Doubtful, he probably has had a poor customer service or delivery experience using Eats. I get tipped probably 40%-50% more driving in the same area using PM vs UE. It could also be the cost of service or the surface appearance that a service is cheaper than others that makes people more inclined to tip.

People also have all sorts of dumb reasons not to tip. Like they would hear some bad news on TV about Uber and say, oh those bastards, I will never tip Ubers again, like some sort of a protest. They don't get it that uber doesn't give a damn about their protests, they are just hurting the person who actually does a service for them...

Great point. I think Uber prefers this lack of transparency and it's not made clear to customers until they see it firsthand that it is Uber that screws them over on a delivery or ride. So many times we get late delivery complaints, "other" complaints, etc, in which the root cause of the problem is not the driver.

I picked up a PM order yesterday and immediately recognized the customer's name and address. I was pretty disappointed to see that it was a regular customer on UE that has never tipped me. I checked this morning and he tipped me on the PM order wth maybe he thinks tips included with UE?
I have one customer that I've delivered both UE and GH deliveries to. Tips on GH, no tip on UE. I don't personally use either app so I'm not sure, but I think the problem is the app. From what I understand, the tipping window is part of the "rate this delivery" at the end of the process and a lot if customers don't. At least until the next time the order and realize they have an open order. I can understand, I never rate deliveries, I just mark delivered. In fact it was two months into UE before I even realized you could rate a delivery. Pick-ups, OTOH, I rate every time, and I'm pretty easy with the thumbs down with crappy restaurants.

IMHO, the higher cost of UE also gives the customer the impression that tips are included.

FWIW, on days I've double dipped, I've noticed that my bottom line is within 10% between UE and GH, with tips being ~50% of my GH pay and <5% of my UE total. Based on number of deliveries.

I get tipped almost every other delivery with Uber, but not much with the others. I actually keep a notepad entitled, "book of assholes". If the customer doesn't tip, makes me wait, hard to find, gated community, hospital, nursing home, or demanding instructions they get added. If I see it is one of these repeat customers they get cancelled.

Have you ever considered that driving delivery might not be your best fit?

If he never tip, drive slowly waste the time for 5 more minutes. Remember that You are getting paid by time. Uber give you $12/hr for your time. You will be getting paid $1 for 5 mins. Consider it as a tip plus customer get punished on hungry empty stomach plus cold food.

Check your math. I don't think anybody is getting $12/hour, even in the best markets. In my market it is $6/hour, and my market is better than most.
I don't know about your region. According to Uber calculation fares details in my location, I saw it is 0.20/minutes.

Plus I notice that, Pay on waiting time is higher than pay on driving time. So I want to suggest you @uberboy1212 to pick up the food, don't start delivery yet, waste your time 5 mins inside your car. Make sure whenever you get into any restaurant, tap on "Food is not ready" and wait. Your are getting paid higher on waiting time.
If you do this practice, every meal delivery orders, we will be getting paid more than a $1 as tips.
I was so surprise that some of delivery guys didn't want to wait when food is not ready in 2 mins, they said they would cancel and leave. As for me, I was willing to wait to get the foods and I was getting paid for few minutes wait time thinking about saving the mileage and gas.

I don't even check a lot of the time to see who tipped. I just look at the bottom line. It is not a personal vendetta kind of deal, it is just about how much I take home at the end of the day.
I dont do it for any reasons, I just happen to remember. I dont treat customers any different whether they tip or not.

If you are getting $0.20/min then you have a phenomenal time rate. Most of us don't get that. I get $0.099/min in my market, and from what I have seen posted on this forum, it is even less than that in most markets. If I was getting $0.20/min, then I would be much more tolerant of wait times and traffic delays. As it is, though, if I'm not moving then I'm making $6/hour at best. I am not willing to work for $6/hour, so my tolerance for wait times and traffic delays is very low.

I have done 3 UE so far, no tips. They were all apartment complex, asked me to drop at the door. I made all of them come out, I text them I'm handicapped and couldn't come and would leave the food on the street. UE and UE customer suck suck suck big time.

I am not sure but I think it was below minimum wages. What I believed before is that Uber was making this time fares rate in payment is to protect themselves from getting sued on minimum payment wages by state law.
This might become a weakness of Uber for getting sued. You guys in NJ should give it a try.

It is so cute that you think you are being paid "actual time". Uber guesses how long a delivery time should take and then pays you that. I am not complaining, but I have tested it many times with a stop watch. They usually pay somewhere between the time you accept the delivery and the time you reach the restaurant, but I have actually had trips where they paid me from before I ever got a ping, and had trips that were paid shorter than actual pick up and delivery.
