All of my documents were approved about a week ago. However, I have not been able to go online.

  1. I deleted and re-installed the Uber Driver app
  2. I have gone through all the troubleshooting tips that are provided through the Uber site

However, when I tap "Go" in the Uber Driver app, nothing happens. There are no error messages or prompts of any kind.

I am on the other hand, able to go online in my Lyft account.

I am using an Android phone (LG)

Please advise.

I would delete the Uber app and power off the phone for 5 minutes.
Power the phone back on and power it off again for 5 minutes.
Power it back on and reinstall the app. Make sure cellular data is turned on for the app along with location/gps.
Try the app again.

If that does not work drive to Uber Hub and ask for help there.

I deleted the Uber Driver app

Cleared the cache

Powered off the phone for 5 minutes, perhaps more

Powered the phone back on and powered it off again for 5 minutes or more

Power it back on and reinstall the app

I made sure that all other settings were ok, ie: location/gps.

No change – I still cannot get online

You say "all my documents were approved." Is your background complete? Have you been notified by Uber that you are now approved as a driver?

If so, go to the Greenlight Hub. They are your best chance of getting that fixed.

Q: You say "all my documents were approved." Is your background complete?

A: Uploaded, insurance card, registration, photo -- all approved.

Background check complete – no issues.

I have been notified by Uber that I am an approved as a driver.

In that case, I think my first stop would be one of your cell service providers stores. Have them check your phone and see if there are any settings issues. (I use an LG V20 for Uber and have never had any issue with the phone.)

If the phone and service are okay, the only option is to go to the Greenlight Hub. It sounds like you've done everything you can do, other than that. Good luck.

Yes, I don't think the phone has a problem; and I don't believe there are any wrong settings configured because my Lyft app works just fine.

Thanks,
When you reinstalled the app, did you have to sign back in? If not, sign out and then sign back in.

If all else fails, submerge your phone in a bucket of water for an hour. That should solve ALL your problems.

In answer to your query: Yes; the three times I’ve uninstalled and re-installed the app, I’ve had to log back in.

Now, the idea to submerge the phone in a bucket of water is not a bad one; although, I will probably suffer a heart-attack, long before that ever takes place.

Just make sure it is icy salt water, heard its the best for phone resets.

Well, I went to the Uber Greenlight, located at:

1617 E Sunrise Blvd,
Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304

After explaining the issue I was having with the Uber Driver app to the erudite that works at this location, she told me to go and buy a new phone. UNBELIEVABLE!

Why in the world would Uber have this nasty nescient dealing with its drivers?

Power the phone back on.

So exactly what model phone do you have?
Does it have the newest software updates?
Is there another person in your family that has a smart phone where you can swap out sim cards and see if it works on that phone? Go buy a cheap gophone for $25 and try it with your sim card.

The phone is an LG Stylo 2

The software is up-to-date

For now, I will just use Lyft. Seems like to much trouble just to drive.
