According to police, Marshall and an accomplice wanted to steal Munsie's car, but couldn't find the keys.

I saw that on the local news here in Dallas. Poor guy was crying in court. I don’t think he was crying for the victim or her family. He cried because he knew he was going to prison for a LONG time.

I live in the area and just heard a radio report about the arrests. Apparently the plan was to steal her car. When they couldn’t find her keys one of them stabbed her in the neck.
Thugs are usually people who are too stupid to hold a job. I guess they did not stop to think they might get caught from their Uber accounts. SWAT set up a fake Uber ride to catch them. I assume that means police contacted Uber and said if one of these idiots request an Uber ride we want to be their driver.

There is no way Uber let police pretend to be drivers and get access to an actual trip request.
