Sad story. Stay safe out there ya'll...
I tried to read it but a block popped up asking me to turn off ad blocking, so I clicked off the page..Although I tried to avoid apartments, especially at night, I will be avoiding any time at night.
Right, and this could happen anywhere. I guess she was just at the wrong place and the wrong time:frown:I am a mother of two who delivers UE in the DFW area..so this story hits hard. I try to stay out of the 'bad areas' but sometimes you just don't know where you'll end up and there have been a couple of times when I felt uncomfortable. Thinking about getting some pepper spray. 😪 RIP
Hopefully, the two of them get the chair, quickly.UPDATE: police have arrested two 14-year old juveniles in connection to this murder.
When businesses have those types of habitual occurrences three times a week at a subway restaurant, the police really should be providing some type of extra patrol. (Meaning making a strong presence with their squad cars directly in front of the store, even eating or walking inside, providing their work cell phone number to the employees for the on-duty officers.)My daughter started working a few months ago at a Subway downtown. She only worked a couple days a week due to her university classes.. I figured it would be a good experience for her.
That area turns out to be a nuthouse. Day or night.
I actually go there and park in front of the store on nights where she's working alone just to keep an eye on her.
Luckily she has more of a class workload this semester and just put in her two weeks notice.
They have a confrontation with customers almost on a daily basis and call the cops at least 3x a week.
That was my thought as well. Why is it occuring so often? When businesses have those types of habitual occurrences three times a week at a subway restaurant, the police really should be providing some type of extra patrol. I'd be curious to know from a L.E. perspective, what type of confrontation could customers possibly have at a Subway restaurant? Like there coupon was expired or something and then they take their frustration on the employee? No snark here, I'm just generally curious what issues were being posed.
Makes sense. At least your daughter isn't in that scenario anymore. That was my thought as well. Why is it occuring so often?
The common denominator is it's cheap food the homeless can afford so it draws a lot of homeless that are unstable.
It's hard to believe that so many people in this country want to defund the police. Do they believe that we'll all live in peace and harmony with no police? When businesses have those types of habitual occurrences three times a week at a subway restaurant, the police really should be providing some type of extra patrol.
