I am a mother of two who delivers UE in the DFW area..so this story hits hard. I try to stay out of the 'bad areas' but sometimes you just don't know where you'll end up and there have been a couple of times when I felt uncomfortable. Thinking about getting some pepper spray. 😪 RIP

Right, and this could happen anywhere. I guess she was just at the wrong place and the wrong time:frown:

I would say if you feel uncomfortable just try asking the customer to come to meet you. It's not worth putting yourself in danger over food.

I live in the area and just heard a radio report about the arrests. Apparently the plan was to steal her car. When they couldn’t find her keys one of them stabbed her in the neck.
Thugs are usually people who are too stupid to hold a job. I guess they did not stop to think they might get caught from their Uber accounts. SWAT set up a fake Uber ride to catch them. I assume that means police contacted Uber and said if one of these idiots request an Uber ride we want to be their driver.
I’m sure someone will say they aren’t bad kids and deserve a second chance.

My daughter started working a few months ago at a Subway downtown. She only worked a couple days a week due to her university classes.. I figured it would be a good experience for her.

That area turns out to be a nuthouse. Day or night.

I actually go there and park in front of the store on nights where she's working alone just to keep an eye on her.

Luckily she has more of a class workload this semester and just put in her two weeks notice.

They have a confrontation with customers almost on a daily basis and call the cops at least 3x a week.

When businesses have those types of habitual occurrences three times a week at a subway restaurant, the police really should be providing some type of extra patrol. (Meaning making a strong presence with their squad cars directly in front of the store, even eating or walking inside, providing their work cell phone number to the employees for the on-duty officers.)

I'd be curious to know from a L.E. perspective, what type of confrontation could customers possibly have at a Subway restaurant? Like there coupon was expired or something and then they take their frustration on the employee? No snark here, I'm just generally curious what issues were being posed.

That was my thought as well. Why is it occuring so often?

The common denominator is it's cheap food the homeless can afford so it draws a lot of homeless that are unstable.

This is tragic, her poor children who she is out busting her ass any way this mom could to provide for them. Some waste of life kids see her as a mark and aren’t just happy robbing her, they have to take her life. I hate punks like this that are allowed to remain a part of society. You know she was likely begging for her babies who need her, should just sell pay per-view subscriptions for the execution of these murderers and invest the proceeds safely in a trust for her kids. It wouldn’t bring their mom back, but profiting off killing her murderers is a start to rid the world of this filth

It's hard to believe that so many people in this country want to defund the police. Do they believe that we'll all live in peace and harmony with no police?
