I'm sure all uber drivers got the same email today about how Uber worked with Red Rocks to make it seamless to pick up pax at Red Rocks. http://denver.ubermovement.com/red-rocks

The fatal flaw in this new rule, is if you got to Red Rocks early enough, you could park and wait in the upper circle, which is a prime spot. Now you can't and won't get pings there.

It's going to be a big weekend for Red Rocks. I made a drop off for tonight's show a little while ago, and will be staging for a (scheduled) pickup later this evening. I'll report my findings then..

This is an FYI I thought I'd share.
Last summer I had a couple who mentioned that at a previous show they were late leaving their seats and by the time they arrived at the Top Circle dropoff area, rideshare pickups ended and all parked traffic began heading out using all lanes. They didn't know what to do so they called a cab, waited over an hr, shelled out >$100. Ouch.

I forwarded this concern to Devon Petersen, Red Rocks guest services mgr, with my question about where/when patrons can be picked up after a show.

His response:
"We allow vehicles to pick up at the Top Circle, as long as they are there 45 minutes prior to the end time of the show. Though this is not convenient, we must enforce it as the road turns into a one-way after the show.

After the show:
For those that are seated near the stage or are able to manage steps to the bottom of the amphitheater, we have a shuttle that runs from the top of the South Ramp down to the accessible section of the Upper South Parking Lot.
The shuttle runs until all patrons who need to get back to the Upper South Lot have been taken back. The shuttles will run after the show until the guests are out of the amphitheater.

Ubers and Lyfts must pick up from the designated pick up area near the Trading Post.
This information can be found on our website: http://redrocksonline.com/visitor-info/parking
Be sure to scroll down to the Uber/Lyft & Taxi section and note the Cab Stand location on the map.
We are working on some changes and improvements currently and in the off-season. Next spring, prior to the season, check the website in April or May to see if our procedures have changed."
