Ok , I like to hear the experiences from our fellow Uber drivers about Uber Pool, I am always exited about new ideas, inventions and so on.

However here is mine :

last Saturday 2:00am , Fishtown, picked up tow young kids (male) to take em to DELCO, one kid was completely wasted , the other one was ok. The wasted kid started fighting with the other pax, in the meantime I got a request by Uber pool for a female.

After checking the exact state of the two pax I decided to cancel the pool , it would have been a disaster if a female would have been added to those two pax (the drunk kid started being really obnoxious besides being physicaly fighting)
In the meantime I had other pool request's and I was forced to decline them.

I finally dropped them in DELCO and one pax passed out, I asked the sober guy if he's friend is staying @ his house (I would not have been able to drag him out by myself) he agrees . Then the wasted kid started fighting as soon as he woke up again with the other guy (throwing punches at him) , I then finally left only to see some cop cars coming in later from far away.

So, if I would have had that female or other pax's in my car, it would have been a disaster, the wasted kid also made remarks like : aren't we pickin up some sexy chicks..In the end I got a hefty down rate on my Uber pool because of that..

whats your story ??

Could be...I don't think Philly is a good town for it anyway. Lyft may just profit from people taking 30 minute UberPool rides from Snyder to center city and getting more customers who are ticked at Uber. The town is just too spread out, there's only 3 fast ways to get north-south (76, Broad and Columbus/95).

I've already had Lyft customers who tried it saying they wouldn't do it again, and I tell everyone how bad the Uber drivers are now because they are the scum of the earth who can't get other jobs for working at UberPool rates.

Lyft will be really weird after the power driver bonus changes hit...You will have full-timers with newer cars who will provide excellent service, and probably the same unemployable scum who drive Uber as well not getting the bonus and not doing the math.

Nitedriver we rarely see eye to eye on most issues. But if you wanna know the truth about UberPool, then you should ask your next few matched UberPool riders what Uber was charging them, and compare those amounts with what you were paid for those rides.
Then you'd have a really good reason to get excited about the "new ideas & inventions" that underpin UberPool.

its horrible they take almost 50 - 60% on short rides some of these rides our first passenger a dollar sixty Uber gets $3 second passenger with a surge $3.66 they get about 45 50% it's really sad taking a person 1.5 miles $1.60.
true Bobby, but I noticed that since pool has arrived we have a constant surge on the app, don't know if it is related to Pool but we have more and constant surges goin on..but all in all I am very skeptical about Pool..hurts rating and can have negative impacts on pax...

Another problem I am having major one. App defaults to pool. And most Customer about 50% can not figure out how to choose X only so when I pick them up they are already upset and pissed off in New York City they have an uber pool button. They don't have one here the reason I'm guessing they want to brag about how good it's doing here when in reality customers don't really have a choice unless they are very good using the app some customers are getting in my car finding out there in a hurry when I tell them I have to stop and get somebody there are like I don't have the time let me out of here and mixing the bar crawl crowd is a horrible thing two nice girls 2 drunk guys don't work for me also if you look at the commissions horrible on a small ride who were they're getting about 50 to 60% of the total bill so says $6 bill I'm getting to 60 $2.60 and they're getting 340 $3.40 giving the fairest way cheaper than a bus

I got paid over $6 on a 1 mile 1.6x pool trip. Of course there was no second pax.
The base fare showed $4.75 which is higher than uberx's $4!

Well I took at 1.6 surge. 2 different pax to manayunk and rox. From market street. $6 aprox. Each. U you think u are making more u better take more pools and see u will be shocked at low price. Last nt my pay 2 miles pool $1.40
Fare 1.75 Uber fee .35 cents . SRF 1.25 SO Total retail for pax $3 .. are u kidding me ..wtf are they thinking. 9 min ride 2.0 miles exact.... they got cabs pissed off
.black pissed. Now Uber x really pissed with pax pissed too.. I guess after cabs go broke . Septa is next. I won't be doing Uber full time too much longer . So this business not in my future. So this is why we need unions to control these prices. As it's not market control . It's them ruining the transportation business in many city's and countries. I tell u what . I think driving a cab may be better. Just alot more dangerous. I don't want to shit where I eat. But truth is truth. I did 20 rides on monday

I am going to stop posting all these details and just drive. It's really simple . We all know the score with this company. In philippines that ride would have cost more . Thier good paying jobs are, $15 a day in factory. I know my wife is philippines I've been there many times

So I got a call from 30th street station and had to float around to find a passenger. I then got a second call from there. But his pin was nowhere that made sense.

I asked the first PAX the destination and just drove her to there and eventually the second guy cancelled. I feel I may choose this option from time to time.

Got my first UberPOOL today.
Confirmed with the pax that she requested pool.
Pax wanted to go to airport and her flight was in 50 minutes.
Normally not a problem, but if I accepted another rider there may be an issue.
Luckily, no other rider jumped in the pool.

No issue other than the 17% fare reduction vs UberX rates.
Fortunately, it was at 1.5 surge, hence, cushioned the damage a little bit.

It's only fair email Uber under that trip and say Customer wanted to do Uber x to the airport just Customers don't know how to switch to x . Maybe u will get a fare mod. I get so many pools that want x only

The airport customer should cancel and request X. Be selective though, if it's a pool surge and X isn't surging anymore, don't have them cancel. If X is surging the same or higher, then have them cancel and re request X
