uber claims that their uber drivers recieved adequate training (10mins youtube video and a questionnaire) to handle their new product: uberpoo

do you, as an uber driver really know how it works, how to handle the ride request and additional components and functions when you are on the road tomorrow?

poll ur answers and let the truth be told.

So here goes one: "What happens if first rider doesn't want to pool?"

What a question!

Answer: If the rider doesn't want to pool-up then he shouldn't opt for Uber Pool.

Yes? Or wrong?

Before we discount Uber's latest ride contraption, take a look at this webby,

http://www.sharetransport.sg

Apparently their services have been well received and are seemingly thriving in their own quiet ways.

If you have done AM-peak carpooling to Raffles Place from ulu-ulu HDB heartlands you might find Uber Pool an option that is affordable enough for daily rides to work.

Commuters who have tried carpooling will find UP familiar and appealing. It sure beats beating the unruly crowd at train interchange or standing onboard the bus for the whole length of your journey to the office.

If you can hit 3 pickups (which actually counted as three trips) at one go in the quickest/shortest time under Pool then it does wonder to TPH. Why not?

Damn! God forbids stinky pax. You wouldn't believed that I had one Singaporean who filled the car with his extra strong aroma all the way and after he dropped it lingered.

Got 2 uber pool jobs this evening. My thoughts:

1. After dropping off 1 rider, and while proceeding to 2nd rider destination, got 3rd uberpool job coming in. So in theory, this uber pool cycle can continue with on end in sight.

2. Sequence of alighting is decided by the app. So driver is not involved in deciding which rider gets to drop off first.

3. By my own calculation, both riders need to be in your car for more than 50% of the journey in order for driver to earn more from Uberpool compare to UberX.

4. Uberpool is just good for achieving TPH.

4. I am no fan of Uberpool. Will try to reject whenever possible. Now even have to look closely before accepting jobs. Sigh!

Always remember. If your uberpool job is only for single rider, driver and uber will share the 25% cost savings for the rider (ie. each 12.5%). If there are 2 riders for uberpool, Uber will gurantee to make more compared to UberX. If riders pay less, uber takes more, no prize for guessing who is the one giving out the savings to rider, and the additional commission to Uber.
