LOL, ok Mikejay. I'm not the one who keeps bringing up 55 and my income.
Dude are you still butt hurt about a driver saying he isnt going to listen to you when you request a ride that usually takes longer because you get stuck at several lights? Someone's got some issues. Plus you dont like what your hearing? Leave I think we all can agree that's the best option.

I'm not butt hurt about anything. The guidance given to the driver from my condo almost always shows 55 so I rarely have to even make the request since most drivers follow the guidance. On the rare occasion where I notice a driver straying away from the guided route I kindly ask them to take 55 and they have always happily complied. No idea why you guys want to keep arguing the 55 thing with me. I know your motive for wanting to take 35W and you know my motive for wanting to take 55. I'm not the one with the butt hurt over it, you guys are.

From some parts of downtown 35W is faster. From where I live it isn't. Your blanket statement isn't valid. I just checked on google again and from my place 55 is showing 3 minutes faster. From my place we will be taking 55. You can keep comparing apples to oranges.

You will lose those 3 minutes in one signal. Like I said, cognitive dissonance. And put your money where your mouth is.

You may be right and you may be wrong but a as a rider he has the right to request you to take that route- he can one star you and report you as well- see Uber will protect him but not you so if you angry - direct the anger to Uber not him. Uber has made us slaves

1st of all they aren't 3 minute signals. If you catch a red light they tend to be short lived on 55. The flow of the light rail trains in both directions tend to keep the lights green. Not counting rush hour, an average trip up/down 55 for me is about 2 red lights total and you aren't stopped for long on those red lights.

Well finally this is where you are completely wrong. I'm at 4000 trips and if you get super lucky, I've only done it once, you go straight through. The lights right off downtown are very long and then you have to deal with every other light. You are absolutley wrong.

Well then go argue with Google and Waze and Uber guidance because the vast majority of the time they all say 55 is the quicker route from my place.

They always say that because they cant correctly gauge lights. If you drove more then 12k miles you would know that!. How many time have you been in traffic and Google says 20 minutes but it takes you forty are you that stupid?

Almost never. 55 is very predictable to me. I know I'm going to hit a couple lights but I know when it's all said and done that there is going to be no surprise in my travel time. 35W on the other hand has given me many surprises and I've had 45-60 minute rides on 35W when there are traffic issues. My longest ride on 55 with traffic issues is going to be < 30. Mileage wise it's about 1/2 what 35W is so I'll roll the dice every time and go with the sure fire thing that 55 is going to give me a much more predictable ETA to the airport. To each their own. If you want to go 35W then knock yourself out. When I'm on board we will be going 55.

Ok, I'm not going to lie, those lights are a pain in the #2. However, I've done it a few times, and I've got 500 trips in the cities.

The trick is to follow the light rail train, and go about 10mph faster than limit.

It's the driver's right as an independent contractor to take whichever route they feel is best.

If you truly support worker's rights, you support the driver's right to take whichever route they choose. End of story.

Best route to take is the river road, east or west depending on where your condo is. No lights, spectacular views, interesting architecture. I liked it better in the pre-X days when all of downtown was $55 flat less 20%. The route taken didn’t matter. Thanks to all of you for wrecking that deal.
