Anywhere on the 'Guy-land is legal except for East Hampton (&Montauk?) but Uber has said they've ceased operations there so you shouldn't get EH pings . With NYC TLC license and plates you are legal to pickup most anywhere in the country EXCEPT Newark Airport and Newark Penn Station. Uber has given me pings for EWR which I decline - who needs the hassle of fighting a stupid ticket in Newark even if Uber will reimburse!?
Actually it is legal for you to pick up at Newark Airport, Westchester and Nassau county as stated in the nyc tlc rules.

No!!...I actually got a $750 ticket for going to pick up a passenger at Hicksville. I had to go to the Nassau TLC to pay the fine. ....And here is the Law :

IT IS NOT LEGAL TO DRIVE IN NASSAU COUNTY WITHOUT THE NASSAU COUNTY TLC LICENSE and The NASSAU COUNTY REGISTRATION sticker . The same goes for Suffolk County and the Hamptons. YOU need SUFFOLK County TLC license and Suffolk registration to drive in Suffolk.
I have applied for Nassau TLC license....I had to pay extra 175 for the license and 300 for registration. They also told me not to drive on Long Island till I get my long Island TLC license and registration.....and that if I am ticketed again the fine will be DOUBLE!!

Why anyone would ask LEGAL questions to uber drivers is beyond me. Ask 10 uber drivers a question and get 10 different answers. Got a question? ask your uber regional office.

No!...If you have any LEGAL questions ask the Nassau County TLC office And the Suffolk County TLC offices!!...Uber still sends us pick up calls on Long Island but you WILL get heavily ticketed if you are caught. It is YOUR driving record that is at stake here....Not Uber!!... (This is what I was told at the Nassau County TLC)

No! Suffolk TLC is not enough to work at Hamptons. Both Towns of Easthampton and Southampton has their own Livery and Taxi licenses and stickers. They don't even cross honor each other.
FYI.

I agree...The Hamptons require More licenses....There was a list of them somewhere....
However, Suffolk County requires Suffolk tlc and Suffolk registration (excluding the Hamptons which have more requirements)
As always instead of arguing which uber driver's opinion you want to throw away or argue, the best place to find out the correct laws is from the Nassau and Suffolk County tlc itself. You can give them a call instead of arguing about that over here!
