I would think that they would require a Suffolk county tlc base also but after being in that office and seeing that they're really kind of new to this process, I'm gonna roll the dice and say that the uber base should be ok. I made it clear that I'm registered and licensed in the city and wanted to be able to uber in Suffolk legally and was given both applications and told to just fill them out and come back. As for the hamptons well I know that uber got there asses kicked out last year so I'm not going to go poke the bear around there but other areas like smithtown, ronkonkoma, lake grove, stony brook should be ok. Like I said before the Suffolk county tlc was formed just last year and they're still figuring it out so as long as you've got your sticker and license and uber doesn't start flooding the towns with cars it should be fine. The Suffolk county tlc office phone number is 631-853-4458, feel free to give them a call. They're def not busy and can clear up any questions about this issue for anyone on this thread better than I can.
Good info. Can any driver share an experience with Nassau county TLC ?

Does anyone know how the proposal in the my state budget to allow uber on long island will work ? Will uber have a base in Nassau ? If so could we drop NYC TCL plates and insurance and get Nassau plates...Any thoughts
