So last weekend I uber'd in Davis quite a bit - took many students to SMF for spring break flights. In the past when I've uber'd in Davis my driver rating invariably goes down. So last weekend I began asking my rides how they rate uber drivers. I had a few respond "I always give a 5 star rating." Most (about 4 out of 5) said something like; "You know how difficult it is to get 5 stars in my classes? I give 4 star ratings or lower most of the time."
I explained to my rides the uber rating system and how a 4.6 rating average is pretty much failing. Most were receptive to my feedback. Oh yeah, and my driver rating went down following the weekend.
I enjoy ubering in Davis. It's convenient for me and I enjoy talking to the students. I don't think uber really appreciates drivers who drive in "rating challenge areas" like college towns...
Agree?
