Yes. Uber will know the van qualifies as XL and you will get those calls but you will also continue to get x calls. Better money to be earned with a van.

I have a Toyota Sienna and drive for both Uberx and UberXL. You have to make sure they put your documents with XL also otherwise you will only get Uberx calls. I also have it to where I can "change vehicles" and just do XL Only. Sometimes XL will be surging and you might want to capitalize on that vs staying on Uberx and get a ping. XL only I do usually on my way home, because a $5 trip just isn't worth it when I'm tired and ready to end the night! Not many XLs on the road but with college kids back, I have seen a rise in requests.

7 trips last night and one of them was an XL. I was fully loaded and I seat 7. I may just start sticking to the XL trips and stay away from the X

Uber is really pushing XL with the pax and the option of fare splitting to them.

Last night was the first time that I choose to only drive XL. Looks like it paid off. 10 trips for $230 in 6 hours.

The downside about xl is uber cuts 28% over 20% on x, keep in mind more people means more waiting, more backseat drivers and a few more pukers. My account is sent to ping both x and xl at the same time, if x is on 2x surge i don't xl, if its fri or sat night by asu or old town i usually ignore x requests and wait on xl...and when you get sick of the bs you sign off and go home...
