Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone had any Uber XL strategies for the Raleigh-Durham area. I know the airport is a bust, however since I just started doing Uber XL only I am not getting a lot of requests. Is it better to keep moving or to park? Any good areas to hang out in? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

My experience is that XL is only good for weekend nights and events. PAX, 4 or less, who can afford to spend money will use it just for the extra space when going out to dinner. PAX will use it when X is surging or not available. PAX tend to travel in groups during those times. Also, prime time is a multiplier to higher XL base rate. The drawback is that it’s bad enough hauling 4 drunks around much less 6. XL’s get poor gas mileage.
My XL is also Lux/Select. So I can supplement with those rides. I made some bank last night with Lyft 250% on Lux and XL. But with Lyft switching to the flat rate PT next month, I may leave my XL in the garage

I know a lot of other drivers will blast me on here for sharing secrets, but XL hotspots are Wilson and Henderson. Lots of large groups all times of the day/week.

Go to venues, study exit strategies and back streets for quick getaways. Don't plan on getting business travelers in XL, but hotels, especially as we head into breaks and summer should be good.
