Hey
I'm sure everyone just got the email about uber Xl, currently I have a civic but in the near future I am going to need to upgrade to a larger vehicle anyway. Anyone see the Las Vegas uber Xl requirements?

I was playing around with the App and saw the Uber XL option show up so I clicked it to see if there were any driving around yet. Then I got the email on my phone 2 minutes later saying my Uber XL had arrived (Emails pop-up just like texts for me). I looked outside to make sure it wasn't waiting for me. LOL o_O

I have a GX470 I decided to get inspected since it was free. I'm still questioning actually driving it. I don't know if I go online with it if I will get uberX and XL rides or just XL rides. It's not really worth driving a 4wd V8 around for uberX prices.

Seems to me driving xL you will end driving groups of 6 or 7 on short rides along the strip. Groups of 6 would often go to cab line and ask for a van taxi thinking they would take 6 which they wont. Then they would ***** about having to take 2 taxis from the mirage to the bellagio. I'm not sure driving xL in vegas would be worth it.

Uber XL has to pay Uber the highest commission rate of 28%-30%. If you have one of those Highlanders with the jump seats in the back- and you qualify for XL - be advised that it has been reported to be a very tight squeeze for 6 passengers and has also been reported to induce low ratings- my advice, if you have one of those jump seats- text the pax b4 pickup, ask for # of riders- more than 5, Cancel and move on.

Hmm good advice MrsUber, I had one pickup with 5 riders (not an XL) and I allowed it because it got me on the strip from the Rio. Besides there were kinda drunk and boisterous, fun crowd. What do I do when they ask me for more than 4 and are on XL?

Well first of all, if you get an X call and they have more than 4 riders, you contact support and tell them you had more than 4 pax and they will upgrade the fare to an XL fare (with a qualifying vehicle) . In answer to your question, what I was suggesting was that the jump seat could probably hold one pax, which would mean that you can comfortably hold 5 + yourself. Perhaps you might consider only taking rides with 5 or less pax. It's a bummer, but like I said, putting more than 5 passengers in that type of vehicle has been reported to be a very tight squeeze for 6 passengers and has also been reported to induce low ratings- Good Luck.
