Well after several years, hubby’s Uber journey had come to an end as he was disqualified permanently from the platform after he was assaulted a few weeks ago during an Uber trip. Customer made a complaint to Uber and of course Uber took their word instead of looking at evidence (which included video footage and police report).
time to sell up the car and move on to bigger and better things

Your hubby should have been fined for having CCTV in his car as it's illegal in a rideshare car, only taxis are allowed them

Nah can get DOT approved CCTV camera system installed as some rideshare drivers want to be completely legal and have done so and installed by a licensed camera installer too with the appropriate DOT mod certification. Most just have a dash cam though that they bought for themselves and put on the car.

They'll be unlikely to pay $1200 something installed even if it 2nd hand equipment to be completely compliant but some do though.

Go to your local news about it.

That's something that the media would be all over. Video evidence of a driver being assaulted, police report, and the driver getting fired on the passenger/Dirtbag's word.

Have him post his story to youtube and see if you can get some money off it.

When suing that pax, include Uber in your husband's lawsuit. His attorney will know what this means. Once filed you'll quickly see Uber becoming your husband's second best friend.

Actually it isn’t car footage, it’s footage from the supermarket where the incident happened. It’s currently under police investigation and charges will be laid
OK! You have me intrigued as to how an Uber Driver can be deactivated from footage from a supermarket. An Uber Driver should always remain inside his vehicle and not get involved in altercations away from the vehicle. If a rider does not want to leave an Uber, the driver should call Police and wait in the car until they arrive. In no way should a driver try to physically remove a passenger from his vehicle. Laying hands on a rider is just asking for trouble and deactivation.

OP posted that the driver got assaulted not the other way around.
If you are getting punched in the car one of the best things you can do is get out of the car to stop getting punched

In my city it isn't that much of a laughing matter two riders punched two separate drivers multiple times and each landed that blow to the eye where they went blind in that eye because they just sat in the car and took it too scared to get deactivated or do anything. However the resulting injury from both drivers basically stopped them driving anyways. Oh yeah they got 1 eye now and uber didn't do anything. Made it news round and then forgotten.

Been other times of assaulted where the rider started punching the driver from behind and on the side from the back of the car in which case the driver took the keys and ran away from the rider that got out to chase him but gave up but driver still got concussion as a result of the blows to the head.

Concussions arn't a laughing matter either, nowhere near as serious as losing vision but TBIs can cause a lot of problems.

Repeated TBIS have been connected with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.

More commonly known as ALS or lou Gehrig's disease.

It's suspected that Lou's case of ALS could have been caused by repeated blowws to the head from baseball.

Additionally in today scurrent times there's a strong link between boxers and football players and ALS.

Head injuries are not a laughing matter...

Out of infinite Irony I always forget about my purple heart from getting a brain injury. The purple hearts I got for getting shot or the one I got from getting blown up I have full memory of thou.

Obviously. The customer pays them. We don't.

This is why I have an internal dashcam

Yep in RS the customer always right even if they're wrong
In addition to the dashcam if I can see they might lodge a complaint, I log off, pull over and lodge one first, then it looks like they are trying to mitigate their own actions because I thought it was serious enough to report them for
