Uber uses surge map to sucker drivers to go to area. As soon as you get there map changes or disappears almost every time. Why do you get ridiculous requests beyond 15 minutes with no surge. If you are actually in a surge zone Uber tries to entice you away with a non surge request. Be smart drivers.
In addition, Uber has a system to not reveal their charge to rider. You only know what your charge per mile or minute is. If you have a surge ride you know multiple.

I’ve been in the middle of surges a lot lately, start getting out of surge requests 10-20 mins away.

By the time you decline those, surge is down to 1.2-1.3 from 1.8-2.0.
