Well, now we know its about 18000 drivers in Melbourne.
Thing about Melbourne,...
And uber will learn this,
Melbourne prefers quality to quantity.

This is not Detroit,
(Or Adelaide)...

Ubers fleet of under skilled, directionally and language challenged , desperate drivers, will not cut the mustard.

It will be their undoing ,
In Melbourne.

Attempts by The Age to contact a representative of Ride Share Drivers United on Sunday were unsuccessful. The group's web page has no contact information other than a generic email address.

Pathetic if this is true.

Also Denham needs to be punched in the face.. smug bastard.
Uberzoom needs to step up,...
Opportunity missed

Uber is about price. If Melbourne want quality how about all the pax turn off the app on Tuesday instead?

You expect drivers to be proficient in English and have some knowledge of Melbourne. Maybe they could do a course of some kind?
Perhaps the government could regulate a minimum fare and maybe protect the pax by having a maximum rate payable as well?
Way too many drivers on the road restrict the numbers perhaps?

Uber is exactly what those who drive for them deserve. That's not changing.

Good on you mate!

Boys and girls... dont forget to LOG-OFF Tuesday and let Uberx Zoom do the rest.

Everything will fall into place sooner then you think!

The less the govmunt stays out of the rideshare business the better for us. It's already bad enough as it is.

Well, there we go. 18k uber drivers in Melbourne. 300 on this group, even if there are 3k 'union' members, we are still just no more than 1 in 5 drivers. My tip is that Uber will manipulate the surge as always, ants will work for base fare, and no rider will be any the wiser.

I'm not sure you fully understand the dynamics here, and how they've changed.
Pax are get stiffed $10 on a mass regular basis., pax need wait 20-30 mins because drivers won't pick them at base, when surge is being quelled by Sara.
Its not about price anymore...if uber doesn't deliver, like it did., the pax will leave.
Perhaps if there were, 8000 drivers instead of 2000 in Adelaide , you would understand ,a little clearer.
Pax will' turn off uber' ... If this continues ...cancel, no shows, 30 min wait, cancel $10 , cancel , no show etc etc and conditions are not addressed by Matt the mug.

It will crumble.

Have to agree. Australians generally pay more for everything and Melbourne and Sydney have a pretty high cost of living.

Uber Customers will soon realise that cheap fares equal cheap service. Uber though, will keep pushing down fares if market share is lost
