Like Bernie Madoff smart!

They are slowly killing off the original drivers as they feed the Ants.

And, systematically killing Surge as we know it, to saccharine in the Charlotte Surge.

All the while charging passengers original Surge rates, and paying drivers Base.

Everyone calls this the Charlotte surge.

However, I don't have high expectations from Charlotte drivers. Truth is I didn't know Uber and Lyft had launched in Charlotte.

Once it hits lots Angeles, it will be known as the L.A. Surge.

Because it's the L.A. drivers that will allow this to hit California.

Can you live with that L.A.?

They will not only live with it they will show it with pride as they cruise around LA with Uber and Lyft stickers all over their new $40,000 Prius.

Uber has come to symbolize what's wrong with America.
Greed...is a terrible taskmaster with an appetite that cannot be satisfied.

Would change to X and/or Pool if I could, but not changes to Poll question allowed, once asked. : /

It is clear with pricing transparency that Uber is charging surge and paying drivers a very very low base price.

It is unethical as we had a partnership and an agreement of a split (75% - 25%) and they cannot operate without our vehicles.

We do need to consider a strike - no joke!

There is not a living wage at base, and even working 7 days a week trying to work higher profit runs it is not economical.

So so sad, so disappointed in the lack of communication for how much profit they made on me and others. This is all very disrespectful. They just hope turnover will make the loyal veterans with high customer approval go away. Bankruptcy here we come - for driver and with karma for Uber. This business model is not sustainable for an IPO and many will share this. I began to trust Uber and have been burned, so burned. My income has decreased so much I cannot make ends meet. WOW!

Strike, impossible through this forum alone, just note how many people are reading the posts.
Strike, could be done through Facebook, twitter, this forum, all together and help from a tv channel.

This is a bad bad job. Anyone with half a brain knows it. The ones that can make it work are not geniuses, but you find a niche that works and work it til it dies. Some wake up with surge in their area and think that makes them smart, some commute to go drive, but one way or another you will be canabalized by rideshare. The goal as they have always said is to replace the driver.

EDIT: It's a mini-Quest. Even worse : /

High percentage of drivers still can't go offline and wait for Surge. Their brain is broken and have an emotional connection to the app.
So them staying online for a measly few extra bucks is inevitable.
Much truth to this...

Charlotte is a totally different market than LA. I don't think their surge practice would work here.

But that said, have any Charlotte drivers noticed if it has or has not bottom line made them more money there?

How could they possibly make more?
Well, one example could be with the new system surges last longer so they have more surge rides. When all is said and done it could be a bigger net

Remember, it's nice to get a 2.0x going 20+ miles but those rides are few and far between. What's more realistic is a 5-10 mile ride. In that case +$5 vs 2.0x might end up being about the same net anyway.

10 mile ride is like 16 bucks just for in miles plus time.

That is way better than 5 bucks.

When Charlotte comes, the surviving ants will chase shorties. People that need long rides can use Select or Black.

Charlotte is good.

Welcome Charlotte with open arms.

The side hustle platform needs to be purged of the full timers.

Full timers need to go legit and drive for a real per mile rate.

Life is better when you purge the negative factors.

Surely, nothing lasts forever. It's just the way Ubers gone about dogging out drivers. Every change is a takeaway for drivers.
