Anyone had any success getting approved for Uber select with a vehicle that wasn't on the list? I just noticed that Ford Edge 2013 or newer is on the list. I drive a 2011 Ford Edge Limited with only 45k miles and meets all the other specifications and my rating is also 4.88 with over 200 trips. Is it worth it going to the greenlight hub to try and get approved?

You would by wasting your time. I was in the same boat and asked that question. The guy pretty said to me so what's your point? Your car is not on the list.

Yeah it sucks.

I doubt they would even help you. They will just say it's not on the list because they lack they ability to reason. Also you're going to waste a lot of time waiting in line at the green light hub.

Last time I was there I wasted an hour. I had to listen to the rep explain the nuances of keeping garbage bags in the car because this lady was complaining that too many pax were throwing up in her car lol.

You can go to the green light location for consideration. My concern is I have a couple of small dings and scratches (one I got Ubering) and I don't want to risk not being able to drive at all. Not sure how strict the people are at the office here, anyone know?

Yeah they are nice at the office but pretty helpless. I wanted to call them worthless but it's not their fault Uber doesn't empower them to do anything.

Ask them to add your car that's not on the list they will tell you Uber city team makes that decision. Ask the Uber tech robot in the app and they tell you to go to the office. Guys at office won't email the city team for you because they've been told no too many times.

Odd though if a car is Select in say Milwaukee that it wouldn't qualify here.

For what it's worth, I've been qualified to drive Select for a couple of weeks now, and it comes up maybe 1 out of 15 or 20 requests. It's unfortunately rare, so you're not really missing out on that much income. XL comes up far more often. (If anyone knows hot spots for Select requests, I'm all ears! I haven't found any. In fact, my only Select requests have been at the airport, and as I just mentioned, it's rare.)

I might as well throw in the obligatory "wish I could just be on XL and Select" line. Getting all those X requests really cramps my style.
