Next to tips on my tax statement Uber lists referral/incentives? $25?
What for is this money do you think?
Haven't had any promo's and haven't referred anybody!

Looks like an early morning promo that Uber didn’t tell you about.

I sometimes wonder why they bother with promos, if they can’t be bothered to notify the drivers at the time, or ideally with some kind of notice. Recently I saw a promo on a Friday evening, just before 6pm, just after I had a beer, and had already decided not to go out, if they notified me earlier in the day, I could have changed my plans and gone out!

I hate it when Uber does that because tolls, rewards or other income are not all treated the same way come tax time (Limes aren't oranges. are they?)

as far as I know, we pay tax on it but no gst bec it was not a service derived income. Just like winning Lotto, its taxable but no gst payable.
