I had to cancel 3 trips in a row on the strip last night because PAX were nowhere near where they were supposed to be and I got put in timeout for two minutes because of it. WTF??
1st cancellation - Cosmo - called PAX and she informed me that she was out on LVB.

2nd cancellation - Circus Circus - PAX could barely speak English and wanted me to look for and find him in the parking structure.

3rd cancellation - SLS - PAX called me to inform me that he was in fact at The Aria and not at the SLS.

Does uber automatically assume that I get off on driving to these locations and then cancelling the fares? What would be my motivation?

They have their computers programmed to do this automatically. I have had this happen to me, when I let airport pings timeout when I am 25 min. away. Be glad it is only 2 min. It use to be 30 min.

Also, don't worry about it. They need drivers in Las Vegas. You won't be deactivated anytime soon.

I got timed out 5-6 times last night for letting x calls ping out. Today I got account alert from goober. What will they do next? Deactivate?
No, you are a private contractor, you control who and where you pick up, you decide your rates and people you pick up. Oh wait, you ain't none of that, you're just a slave like a taxi driver, lmao.

I think I had this happen to me the other night. Had a passenger I was supposed to pick up at the Bellagio. I couldn't find him and he couldn't find me and it wasn't very busy. At first I thought he was at the old pick up location because Bellagio just changed it, but after me and this guy calling back and forth like three times he still couldn't find me, but he said he was seeing other Uber drivers picking people up. While he was talking to me the last time I heard someone in the background say Mandalay Bay. He decided to just cancel ride. I don't think he was actually at the Bellagio.
