@MondayMan didn't I say I tried to pay my mortgage with POINTS and the bank declined. I was being funny... I already have 400 points, great! Useless, we know they are trying to suck in the newbies with this " exciting " program. Free tuition "WOW", but one example how the hell are you suppose to keep your 85% up for an example, you end up at EWR queue, and you get like 5 pings to the Gardens. I feel that even if being Diamond had great benefits, it's not achievable and if you are able to keep the 85%, 4% and 1200. You will never be able to keep your rating above 4.85 as you will have to take 4.1s, GQs, etc problematic riders. And the major problem you will have to take rides that are totally unprofitable. At the end of the day it doesn't work in our benefit, we have a strategy to maximize our miles on the road. So I will stick to my 4.98... 45% acceptance,18%cancellation.This is not a conspiracy theory, it's a straight-forward reading of page 30 of Uber's IPO filing dated April 11. My suggestion-ignore the "points" and drive for dollars instead, including driving for Lyft more.

@Jcs186 man don't stop at $25, I've been able to 3x that. Keep an eye on events, have surge apps, if you put the work into learning patterns, will kill it.Only if you want it too. If you want to be an ant to temporarily go above 85% acceptance rate just for it to dip below that when you can see how far the ride is, thats on you. I can care less about Uber Pro and continue making 25/hr before expenses the way I have been doing it.
And at what cost does it "increase" your pay if you have to take 8.5/10 rides regardless to keep your "time and direction"No one is forcing you to be Pro.
But I think going into conspiracy theories is a little much.
The advantage of pro is time and direction. If you don't think that helps *increase* driver pay, I don't know what to tell you.
You do you, man. If it works for you, great. But as I said, this is not a secret. They literally spelled it out in public documents. The goal is to reduce driver incentives. No one is forcing you to be Pro.

Good luck with it. come back in about a month and tell us what success you've had.No one is forcing you to be Pro.

In the first two weeks of the "new" pro, I'm up $200 from the same time last year, working one additional hour. Thanks for asking.Good luck with it. come back in about a month and tell us what success you've had.
Glad you're happy enjoying your new benefits. I'm sure more are to come.In the first two weeks of the "new" pro, I'm up $200 from the same time last year, working one additional hour. Thanks for asking.
Okay so you've convinced yourself this is good. Enjoy your $200 "extra". In the meantime knock yourself out for the new quests choices. In the first two weeks of the "new" pro, I'm up $200 from the same time last year, working one additional hour. Thanks for asking.
Agree. Keeping 85 AR is 1/7. And that's 7 accepts, not 7 trips. If you do not have any restrictions while driving, then maintaining the rates shouldn't really be all that hard. I have to pick up my kids at school several times a week which presents a bit of challenge for me. I had to turn down an airport run earlier because of that. Most of my other declines are low rateds or NYC. Unless there's a run of bad luck, I generally still am able to maintain my 85%. I also deploy my cancels if I need to. Used one today for the airport run after declining two NYC's (maybe JFK's) earlier. Now, if you are completely anti-Pool then I see no way you'll be able to maintain 85%.
Anyway, this has been my experience with Pro since January. But I drive mainly in Bergen area. If you drive elsewhere, you may have a different experience obviously.
I love when people say that they still decline rides. That is complete BS. If they do 85 rides a week working 5 days, that means 17 rides a day and only 3 declines per day.It is impossible to maintain 85% and increase your profits. Of course you can get that 85%, but you will see a significant decrease in your profits as you will get stuck with a lot of [email protected] rides. Remember in this business mileage is everything.
So are you going to accept a ping for X base rate that is 4.8 miles away for an estimated 2 mile fare? If you reject it then you have to accept the next seven pings regardless of direction and time. If you take it you earned your $3.71 and move on.Agree. Keeping 85 AR is 1/7. And that's 7 accepts, not 7 trips.
It's policing you on your AR but if you see time and distance, you'll figure out what's profitable real quick.
Uber may not be strict with the 4% cancellation. I see these a$$wipes on Facebook post that cancellation doesn't matter. They probably start and end the trip if they dont like the destination or they're calling every passenger asking where they're going. I wouldn't put it past these low life donkey driversSo are you going to accept a ping for X base rate that is 4.8 miles away for an estimated 2 mile fare?
