Oh yeah, they use that language which makes your blood boil. "Based on feedback from drivers like you", " This feature has been developed for you and with you", "You told us that surge was unpredictable and inconsistent, so with this new surge your earnings will be more consistent". Blah blah blah!!!!Based on driver feedback.... what kind of crack are they smoking at Uber HQ?
Subject is: a new reward. Ummmm we already get quest. It sucks even worse than flat surge.
I can't believe you did this gig and also studied hardcore computer science along with it? Hats off to you. And you werealso dealing with that horrible Uber lease. So glad I left rideshare in my rear view mirror....
Goodbye Ant farm...Its been a "fun" 2.75 years
Not even that good... bait and give you what you already had, cause you asked for us to...Isn't this the definition of the "bait and switch" technique?
By the way, no need to worry. I talked to Uber support and they said there has been no change. How the @@@@ do they not even know the program has been changed?
$1.10/mile and $0.50/minute, that's all I want, NOTHING ELSE!!!!I think it's safe to say that the cowboy days of rideshare are over.
The disruption hasn't happened and it never really will. Uber and Lyft will never realise their high fallutin ideas of dominating transport.
And so, with their IPOs, and the ensuing scrutiny, they must, as publicly traded companies, hasten their ways to a profit - at all costs.
There's only one route they can take - to raise rates and to cut costs, like all businesses since the dawn of time.
And there are no prizes for guessing where drivers fit into that equation.
I still wouldn't work events. I foolishly tried working one Mariners game (first event I've tried in 6 months or more (even before the new flat surge). I opted to just drive emptyhanded out of there, rather than be totally neutered by the corporate villians at Uber and Lyft. Pax side surge was booming. Not a lot of cars were actually working the stadium. I re-learned my lesson and continued to avoid those money losing ventures.$1.10/mile and $0.50/minute, that's all I want, NOTHING ELSE!!!!
If Uber sends me an agreement in which they say that they would charge the passenger however they want, they could charge the passenger 5 times more during events and I will have no share in that surge , and they will not give me any promotions, any quests, any bonuses whatsoever, but they will make sure that I will get paid $1.10/mile and $0.50/min and that I will have the same freedom and flexibility of a private contractor. My response would be, deal, let's do it. Pay me according to that rate, and go ahead and screw the passengers however you want, I will not have any problem.
Honestly, that would be my demand, I'm pretty sure many of you would not like me for that, but frankly that's how I feel, I could keep pounding my car day-and-night for them for that rate.
Same here, I have never had any luck with events, I would take a busy evening rush hour over any freaking event anyday. Events attract too many clueless ants.I still wouldn't work events. I.... used to have quite a bit of luck with events. I remember making $150 - $200 just working the end of an event. I used to make $75-$150 between 1:30-2:30 bar close rush. Sometimes you'd strike out and hardly make anything but the money was usually good.Same here, I have never had any luck with events, I would take a busy evening rush hour over any freaking event anyday. I am a stripper incentive level driver. Uber sent me my own Uber branded mankini to wear when doing ap runs. Business pax LOVE it. Esp when I flex my pecks to techno music while they're on a conference call. They delight that their co-workers don't know that they have Aurora's best right there, driving them to Seatac. They wouldn't dare tell em... their entire boardroom would be so jealous.Stripping the incentive for drivers to reach these levels is either internal desperation or borne by external pressure.
It would make more sense now to eliminate the levels and re-even the playing field.
Aurora is mine. Stay off my corner.I am a stripper incentive level driver. Uber sent me my own Uber branded mankini to wear when doing ap runs. Business pax LOVE it.
