Can somebody please explain to me why uber pool still exist?
DF reduced rate got eliminated within few weeks, due to unpopular ranting by the drivers.
Why o why cant they get rid off uber pool. I had multiple uber pool requests that were 5 min or less, ofcourse I wont be able to pick up extra paxs.
I stopped accepting uber pools all together.

With pools UL still can keep the name of rideshare. Without them they turn into taxis next second.
They won't be able to feed the crap how they reduce city traffic with pools.
Plus pools are profitable for both platforms.
That's why both have cs promos to make sure that you accept at least 1 pool out of 3/5 rides.

Even though I hate uber pool and don’t take them I wouldn’t get rid of it because usually the ones who request uber pools are the worst kind of PAX. They will take you to underserved or crime ridden neighborhoods and are quick to report that you’re under the influence so they can get a free ride. I get more civilized human beings on uberX and I wouldn’t want to mix poolers back in the X crowd.

Pool is very popular in the morning rush and people are going to work. Usually the most laid back people of the day. These people would not be using Uber if it wasn't for Pool, and it's silly to think they would get an X over public transit instead. Pool is a whole different group of riders. Now this doesn't apply to apply to any other time other than the morning/afternoon rushes. Everyone else is just cheap.

If people who except pool trips would just stop new requests immediately it would drive up the surge for everyone. Eventually Uber would not allow the stop new requests like Lyft. Does Uber still make new drivers do so many trips before they are granted access to pool rides and make a big deal out of it like your moving up in the world.

I'll do Lyft Pools if there's a huge surge. This last Sunday I did one that took 6 minutes and was paid $7.90, the rider tipped $2 so $9.90 for 6 minutes, pretty good to me. But only when there's a huge surge. There were a ton of surges Sunday and I did the most pools I've ever done:

One was 37 minutes - $25.51

another the one mentioned above $9.90 for 6 minutes

another $15 for 18 minutes

$10 for 20 minutes

$4 for 2 minutes and 30 seconds

$10 for 9 minutes although it includes a $2 tip

I was lucky this weekend on those. But if there's a surge I like Lyft pools at least as the surge carries through for the whole ride. Uberpools on the other hand, no thanks, extra $2 per pick up or whatever it is, no thanks.

Today was using a Destination Filter to get to work by 1030am...

I pick up 2 riders going in that direction...about 10min away from get a 3rd pax, thinking they are getting drop in the area...

Pickup pax, and see they are going 20min away...taking me away from and making me late...

My fault for not just canceling on the Pax after they got in and explain how DF works...and this is Uber's Problem...

DF has this problem w pool rides...i have it happen at least 10-12 times in last 60 Days...most of the time I wasnt in a Urgent situation so i chalked it up to the App...plus I was probably getting a consecutive trip bonus...

Didnt get any Consecutive trip bonuses this week...so if that's the case going forward I will be canceling on Pax going in Opposite direction or off route of DF...

Has this happened to you?
