Gee my math is bad...please help me out

Gross fare two pool riders was total 34.89
Uber commission was 11.51
11.51/34.89 = 32.9%

32.9% = Don't do pool u getting screwed royally ...
It goes upto 45%. It will continue if the sheep keep doing it. No thanks

I booked 2 Poo rides and an UBERX ride last week.

From Broadway to King St Wharf and back after a Vivid Cruise were the 2 Poo rides. UberX would’ve been $11-12 the Poo ride $7.60 & $7.90.

I asked the drivers why they did Poo work. They both said that if they get the 2nd job they will earn more than an X job. What chance is that with 2 of us on board I asked ? 1st guy reckoned he got a 2nd pickup about 50% of the time, 2nd driver less often. Both had grubby cars, fully expected for the returns they were getting.

I told them they were gambling their ratings away for passengers that will give them trouble. One asked how I knew that as his rating had dropped with Poo jobs.

I told them to try and keep a close watch on their returns and ratings, as UberPoo only benefits UBER & passenger. Drivers miss out UBER is better at Maths than drivers

No 2nd pickup. I gave both a $5 tip, at least UBER can’t get their grubby hands on that.

Many Uber drivers cannot see past the daily amount on their screen,
  • even less have done a spreadsheet projection to deduct their fixed/variable costs,
  • even less have done a projected Profit/Loss Statement which includes the accelerated depreciation of their vehicle.

Took a UberX last week. I told the driver that I do Uber part time and asked him his opinion of poo. He was like that was the best thing since Internet?!?! I told him my hatred towards it.. don't think he'd get it. There are ants like that too
Yep uber loves the typical dumb ant who just see $300 in the bank for a days work

Life changing money for most of them

I'm now resisting the temptation to say "no thanks" to pOO requests. I let the ping time out instead.

Saying no thanks to pOO requests just means that FUber can send the ping out to more drivers quicker. Keeping the cheap pOO riders waiting longer for a pax to get matched with a pOO driver is a good thing. Hopefully they give up, or get advised no cars available.

I did 1 Poo job when it was new because I didn't know it was Poo. The rider gets in and then it flashes additional pickup inconveniently located so I ask rider their address and take them directly and then 2nd rider eventually cancels.

You were being mean to them. A nice person would give them a 1* to teach them to reject Poo. You did them a disservice by encouraging them to replace money with Poo.
