This is just my own personal thoughts about the $10/week charge for the Uber Iphone.
I have an android, so purchasing 1 gig of data w/ Verizon is $50.00/month (not including the phone cost)
2 gigs of data is $60.00, and it goes up from there.
First of all, I don't have a choice yet anyway having an android. But I don't think I'd want to spend $60/month to use my personal 2 gigs of data exclusively for Uber use. It wouldn't last long.
I don't know anywhere you can get an IPhone w/ 2 gigs for $40/month, which is what it will cost us to keep. For someone that doesn't have a smart phone (maybe a regular talk/text phone) would have to buy an Iphone and they cost about what....$600.00 in addition to the data plan?
I like having my personal phone separate so I can use it for personal use while I'm sitting like most of you waiting on pings. I don't like the idea of having just one phone that you have to switch screens back/forth to navigate quickly. I like having my Uber Iphone open at all times, then using my personal phone to view other drivers, check email, download other apps, or just play a game.
Just my thoughts.
