Yeah, that’s why I said LA is just as bad as OC in the other thread. Every time I do a drop off there, 90% of the pings are paying less than 50 cents a minute. I get way more decent trip requests going to San Diego rather than LA.
Overall, Lyft and Uber just try to oversaturate the market as much as possible, so unless you’re very flexible in your routines and work a lot of hours, you’ll struggle.
Look at these bullshits I got after doing a Burbank dropoffView attachment 734737
Look at this utter shit. And complete lies for the estimated time. Fking crooks.
The system is designed now to make the maximum possible for Uber and the driver be damned.Look at these bullshits I got after doing a Burbank dropoff

I only did one $11 trip that was on route and didn’t accept anything else until I got back to OC. San Diego definitely seems like it’s better than LA right now. The rates are just dogshit for having to deal with so much traffic.
Lyft was brilliant for setting the bar for what’s “fair” at 70% after 3rd party fees. It should be at least 80%.Got paid $2.21 today from Lyft.
It was for their 70% of total fare commitment.
Just an idea . Not great if you are the one they cap .California needs state intervention now! The only way to change this is to protest at city council meeting and force them to give us per mile and per minute wages and have driver caps.

I wonder how many drivers would support driver caps if they were included in the cuts?California needs state intervention now! The only way to change this is to protest at city council meeting and force them to give us per mile and per minute wages and have driver caps.
If you just cut out the people who rarely drive unless Uber offers a big promotion and slow down the recruitment of new drivers, then that would be enough to manage the over saturation issue.I wonder how many drivers would support driver caps if they were included in the cuts?
All the old timers but they would just need to stop signing up new people for one year like they did in New YorkI wonder how many drivers would support driver caps if they were included in the cuts?
The ideal structure would be to cut off new enrollments and deactivate anyone who doesn't drive X number of hours per month. It sucks for people who see this as something to pick up for an hour or two when they're bored but something has to be done to stop the over saturation problem. Uber has no incentive to do it themselves and I don't know if there's any appetite to do it at the state level. If you just cut out the people who rarely drive unless Uber offers a big promotion and slow down the recruitment of new drivers, then that would be enough to manage the over saturation issue.
Right now, the business model is too centered on shitting on the most dedicated drivers to focus on pumping and dumping newbies instead.
Yeah, Uber being a side gig for people is fine, but oversaturating it with people who not even making $100 week just makes the shit wack for everybody. The ideal structure would be to cut off new enrollments and deactivate anyone who doesn't drive X number of hours per month. OR Uber could just improve. It’s possible you know.Let's just ****ing quit.
Tired of seeing all the *****ing.

How many times have we been reminded that ride share was supposed to be a side gig and not a full time job?The ideal structure would be to cut off new enrollments and deactivate anyone who doesn't drive X number of hours per month. Uber and Lyft try to get drivers to work as many hours as possible. Insinuating that certain jobs aren’t “real jobs” or “just a side gig” facilitates the abuse of workers. How many times have we been reminded that ride share was supposed to be a side gig and not a full time job?
Perhaps they should just cap drivers to no more than 4 hours per day and 3 days per week.
