I'm an UberX Driver. Here are 2 rides, back to back that I drove last night.

I started driving on May 21st, so I'm under the 25% Service Fee contract.

Last ride:
Total Fare was $30.10
Toll: $ 2.56
Uber's Fee: $ -7.52
Payout: $ 25.14

Total Mileage: 29.3 Miles
Total Time: 42 Minutes

42 minutes x $.15 Per Minute rate: $6.30
29.3 miles x $.85 Per Mile rate: $24.905 ($24.91)
TOTAL is: $31.20
Tolls: 2.56

Uber doesn't take the 25% from tolls, so here's the math.

(Mileage rate + Minute rate)*.75 + Tolls == Your payout
($24.91 + $6.30) * .75 + $2.56 == $31.20 * .75 + $2.56 == $23.40 + $2.56 == $25.96 (PAID) compared to $25.14 getting paid.

SO where's my other $.82 on this one trip?

SECOND TRIP

Total Fare was $15.88
Toll: $ 2.00
Uber's Fee: $ -3.97
Payout: $ 13.91

Total Mileage: 14.2 Miles
Total Time: 27 Minutes

(Mileage rate + Minute rate)*.75 + Tolls == Your payout
($12.07 + $4.05) * .75 + $2.00 == $16.12 * .75 + $2.00 == $23.40 + $2.00 == $14.09 (PAID) compared to $13.91 getting paid

RANDOM TRIP

Total Fare was $27.52
Uber's Fee: $ -6.88
Payout: $ 20.64

Total Mileage: 27.3 Miles
Total Time: 32 Minutes

(Mileage rate + Minute rate)*.75 == Your payout
($23.21 + $4.80) * .75 == $16.12 * .75 == $23.40 == $21.01 (PAID) compared to $20.64 getting paid

I am curious as to what Uber is trying to do here? Every single one of my trips have been...swindled and out of 242 Trips, let's say an average of $.40 per trip, that's nearly $100 out of my pocket? And that's only my first month with Uber!

The minute rate is $0.10 here in Dallas, not $0.15. Run your numbers on that value and see if it comes out closer.

Still doesn't come out accurately, and I signed up with it stated as $.15
The fares that you "signed up with" are irrelevant. The "Service Fee Addendum" that you are required to agree to when signing on as a driver refers to the Uber website Dallas city page for the current fare structure. If you are driving UberX fares (which you are, if you are calculating $0.85/mile), then you are being paid $0.10/minute before commission.

Ok, just redid the math, god I must be tired. Took me 2 days of doing the math to figure out that the $.10/mile rate and then adding the $1.00 base fare into it (even though the app doesn't show it added) is where the problem was. Maybe it was just the $1 base fare added behind the scenes that screwed me. LOL! Anyways, Thank you very much dirtylee and by the way, love your avatar pic!
