Uber, Lyft say new Illinois rideshare bill could force them to end service in the state

Uber and Lyft have already created a banned driver's list and have cleaned out a lot of bad apples in the bunch. The problem I see with this is a new rideshare company is not going to have access to these banned drivers for whatever reason. Regardless if it was a truthful ban or if it was false accusations by passengers, a new company is going to have to go through these "new" drivers.

No the false accusations will have a second chance, but the ones that deserve the ban are going to be the issue.

To be honest this scares even myself to what could really happen if this bill went through, if a new company pops up out of nowhere or takes over the area without having some sort of History or ban list.

How long before the politicians issue ITIN’s to the newly licensed, undocumented trespassers?

Every background check will be pristine. Existing drivers with a 40 year old speeding ticket will be treated as less than the 5x DWI convicted felon who took a Biden bus to a liberal sanctuary and got a freshly cleaned slate.

These drivers will be on the apps before year-end here in Boston.

While we were transporting COVID pax for base rates and dealing with grandma playing “Say my name” in 20 degree temps because their tick-tok grand daughter downloaded the app and told her how, they snuck this in the back door and then Uber and Lyft lobbied well enough to get the populace to codify it.

Remember all the back ground check delays and we got no help? They were busy working on this new work force with the millions from the rideshare lobbyists.
