Yesterday it was raining hard during the evening and Manhattan was surging all over, i picked up a couple from central park going down to the financial district, Uber charged them 62 dollars but i only saw 25 bucks out of it. its been hapening all the time lately since uber started quoting the fare up front, forget about commission,these are uber's new rules and most of the drivers have no clue whats going on. Why would any human being with common sens and dignity would be still driving for those thieves? i rather be delivering pizza knowing exactly how much i am getting paid rather than been taken for a clueless idiot by Uber excutives.

They lost $$$ in their efforts to expand in Asia, Africa and 70 other countries. The efforts include lobby & bribes to various gov officials to allow everyone to become a taxi driver and that costs a lot of $$$$. Otherwise Ubers business model is pure profit once they are established. However, they don't need to completely screw EVERYONE in NYC with higher pax upfront fares and the driver is paid a different "regular" fare. Uber has the perfect excuse for screwing everyone and raking in an even higher commission with this corrupt practice that has been proven true by Uber drivers

They lost big in china.china basically let them set everything up and then kicked uber out.the chinese government is not shy about black bagging entire offices of arrogant businessmen

If you question pax about upfront fares and contact Uber too many times, they might deactivate you as a precieved threat. There's definitely a discrepancy towards Ubers advantage and sometimes major like the one in the title. But you will never know the difference if you never ask the pax about their fare quote

First ive heard about deactivation over fare dispute....i could see being deactivated for asking pax about their fare tho, since the arrangement isnt handled by the driver when using uber

They lost more than 2 billion in 2017 and well on their way for a similar loss in 2017.
On every fare Uber and other ride sharing Co. are losing more than 50%... The more fare the more losses.
They must be desperate to save money somewhere.

Hopefully it is paid off by then eh? If your financing car pymnt is numero uno no? Even at a dollar a mile at 120k miles that should be paid off.

Business loss = no income tax on the business. This is a strategic decision most business are advised when they are young, all investors know this old fashioned trick.

By the time u hit 120k shouldn't u have made 3 or 4 more times what u originally paid for the car? Not to mention privately selling the car?
