Uber doesn't give two ****s about getting people from point a to point b. It's all about data mining.

Google isn't rich because it can find your porn more efficient than anyone else. Google is rich because it know everything about you.

Notice, the woman mentioned in the article that deleted the Uber app from her phone (because it was trendy and hip at the moment) reinstalled it right away afterwards. Why? Because TK has them hooked. That's why I don't understand why he has "dumped" the price on this service. He truly could charge as much as taxi cab companies. Unless?
His ego, and winner take all mentality is so friggin big, that he just has to win all the chips and put everybody out of business!

Uber is gathering tons of data and will be the leading service for driverless cars. They are trying to monopolize so they can have people hooked to the brand no matter what provides the seevice and for how much. There are many things they consider that we might not.

Also they are more concerned about the booking fee, then charging a higher percentage.

Also, if drivers made more money they would not drive as much and the instant cheap mcdonalds like shuttle service would not work as well.

In my opinion, if drivers had higher fares to begin with, they might drive less and would possibly return to Downtown less often.

You made money from surges, not from the basic fare. It should make sense to you.

Good job but you probably had one or two long and lucky fares and you feel like showing off. I was downtown and didn't get any pings for XL for hours and I'm sure others didn't either.

As has been pointed out and discussed before, Uber and Lyft could easily raise rates 75% and still be cheaper than a taxi, in general offer better service than a taxi and not see a reduction in passengers, but would see an increase in drivers. Which, if both services were smart, they would then do a better job of screening drivers, or cutting out the dead weight.
