Ok, it's funny that you mention this. I had one of those college student PAX help himself to my ice cold soda I had in my drink holdet for ME. And he was riding in the back seat! He got real comfortable. Reached for it at his destination and had it in his hand even before I could open my mouth to say "yes" or "no". I said a clumsy "er, ok" and sent him on his way, Lol. I had to give him props for being so bold.

I hold the back of my hatchback door open for 'em.

There was one guy at the airport tonight ( hope he's not in here) going to find PAX who couldn't find there way upstairs to the app. pickup location. When he,confirmed to me what he was doing, I was,stunned. Really? You're gonna search down PAX for $10 an hour??

I've had numerous PAX tell me they dont like it when drivers try to help load their luggage when getting picked up at the AP. They can sense the ass-kissing desperation in these drivers.

Exactly JD! I see so many people complain that they don't get tips but they even try to provide good customer service? I do the same thing as JD although no tip jar. I do have tips signs and put some bait money in my center counsel. I almost always end up with 20 bucks for the day. Also, I help everyone with their luggage. Vacationers are the best for tips!

It's been called a tip jar but it's a compartment in the center console that doubles as a tip jar! I should add a led light!

I don't want to offend anyone, but the two I saw recently had these big goofy grins on their faces. As soon as they laid eyes on PAX, they started jumping like PAX was cracking a whip.

Ok, I don't want to start preaching, but kissing PAX's ass is why PAX take advantage. I don't think water and candy should be given out anymore either. They are getting a cheap ride more often than not, why should they get these extra freebies. I have stopped giving out the water and candy and I am getting more tips than ever before, but because I'm getting better at driving. Stop the water and candy, and let the chips fall where they may in regards to ratings.

Jagent is right. The primary reason to load the luggage is so the pax don't damage the car. I never let a passenger load luggage in my car and it has nothing to do with tips. It is such a habit for me I don't even think about it.
