We pay GST on the gross fare and claim a GST credit on the Uber service fee.Does anyone know if we pay GST on our Uber Fees?
I download the monthly statement, but it doesn't mention GST, so I am guessing we don't.
Download the weekly invoice from Uber, it will show your GSTDoes anyone know if we pay GST on our Uber Fees?

As a new driver I presume your uber commision/ fee is 27.5 % now 2.5% of that is ubers GST which uber gives to the ATO.
Now the money uber puts into your bank , it is up to you to pay your GST ,minus your credits on e.g. Fuel etc. every 3 months called BAS Statement , :smiles:
Welcome to the forum
Thank youDownload the weekly invoice from Uber, it will show your GST
uber fees cover income tax and GST, the money uber deposits in your bank account is yours to keep and spend on yourselfDoes anyone know if we pay GST on our Uber Fees?

Don't forget that the weekly invoice is incorrect.Download the weekly invoice from Uber, it will show your GST
The statement from @The Source is completely incorrect.uber fees cover income tax and GST, the money uber deposits in your bank account is yours to keep and spend on yourself :smiles:
Don't forget that the weekly invoice is incorrect.
It shows the incorrect amounts on the Transport Levy (the Net Amount showing is the Inc amount not the Ex)
Also does not show the CTP Levy at all.
I have to manually adjust it each week to balance it back to the Weekly Payments Summary before entering it into my accounting system.
FUber have been told of this error in the invoice 12 months ago and it looks like they are never going to get the report correct.
My statement from Uber (29/4/19) shows both NSW CTP charge and NSW Govt transport levy, unfortunately I did a pick up in the tweed
Same thing in Victoria happens for the Government levy and also any split fares. I tried to tell Uber about it and kept getting told they weren't able to provide any tax adviceDon't forget that the weekly invoice is incorrect.

The statement from @The Source is completely incorrect.
Follow this advise from @The Source and you will have the ATO knocking on your door wanting their money.

I can only shake my head
( sorry source but that's wrong mate)
Does that include the booking fee and levy, too?We pay GST on the gross fare and claim a GST credit on the Uber service fee.
For more information, see https://www.ato.gov.au/general/ride-sourcing-and-tax/.
Yes but it is a matching revenue (from customer) and expense (to Uber) so has no effect on net GST positionDoes that include the booking fee and levy, too?
The booking fee of 55cents has been interesting , from the time it was introduced :thumbdown:Does that include the booking fee and levy, too?
Not an issue @Golfer . You declare an income of 55 cents including 5 cents GST and a payment of 55 cents including 5 cents GST. You get no net GST liability and Uber have to pay the 5c GST. It's exactly as it should be since the booking fee is actually theirs (even though we all wish it wasn't)The booking fee of 55cents has been interesting , from the time it was introduced
55 cents fee , the 5cents is supposed to be the GST , and returned to us BUT ,lately the whole 55 cents is being deducted by uber , instead of just 50 cents
Now it dosent bother me as I don't do enough trips
However a full timer , would notice it if e.g.
They did 500 trips × 5 cents = $ 25 ?
I'll leave it with you :smiles:Not an issue @Golfer . You declare an income of 55 cents including 5 cents GST and a payment of 55 cents including 5 cents GST.
