Yes, you read that correct. $6 cash tip for a stupid little McD order. I asked the customer to throw her drink in my face to be sure I wasn't dreaming. Then, when I realized I wasn't, I just started to cry while she backed away slowly with her Mc-something meal and some kind of Frappe.
Seriously though, I was here at work (real job) at my desk at lunchtime with the app on, get a ping for the McD 2 minutes away. I get the order and drive to the address. As I pull up for what would be a fare of $5.30, Uber lady is calling me like the Voice that would call Ben Affleck in The Accountant (glad I took the risk instead of thinking it was someone calling from collections somewhere). They say the customer wants to change the address and would I accept. I do though I have no idea where the address is exactly since I'm from Miami but this is all going down in West Palm Beach. It turns out the new address is 10 minutes away and I begin my drive thinking "Shit, this chick is going to blame me for her cold fries. But, on the other hand, she might appreciate having to pay for the most expensive McD's of her life due to the longer mileage and might tip for my inconvenience". Regardless, it took 17 minutes to go 10 miles. She comes out of her company after already having texted one apology, thanks me profusely for coming so far, and gives me the $6 tip.
Now, I'm in limbo after doing as The Voice instructed me to email the powers that be to claim a fare adjustment. That's ok. I know if I take care of Ube, Ube will take care of me. ;-P
