This week I drove 6 pax that said they were Uber driver. None of them tip me. Like the church lady used to say
"

One guy actually told me to cut thru 2 gas stations to avoid waiting for traffic lights( illegal btw) loaded and unloaded his luggage ( airport trip) and the whole time talked about how he makes so much money with Uber. Quote " do you like working for Uber" me: I like meeting people and having lots of good conversations when I drive" he goes " a lot of money right!!" " I make thousands and thousands I love it"'.

The world is backwards!!!!

I've tipped every Uber driver cash. Most were brand new and had no idea what to do. I've never had a driver do more than pop the trunk when going to or from the airport. Half of them never even said hello or verified my destination. I tip them cash and 5 star them. A day later reply I change their ratings to 2-stars. I've done about 15 trips as a pax and only had one driver who knew what the eff he was doing and he had 6000 rides under his belt.

Ive driven 100s of pax who claimed to drive rideshare and maybe 5 of them have tipped me.

So I've been right all along. Thanks guys. I also get " I will leave you a nice review" you were great! Never happens. I always leave my drivers reviews, we all should if it's well deserved.

I'm not boosting I alway tip my driver a 100% of the trip since I usually take short trips and I know fuber will take like 50% of the fare. Throwing the guy $10 for helping get to where I need to go. Won' cause me to file chapter 7. It's good karma too.?

As he exists " hey, don't forget to tip. Us drivers have to stay together". Put the ball into his/her court.

I always tip my driver.
I still remember the guy that claimed to be an Uber driver and that I had a lovely conversation with about the job. He knew quite a bit that told he he probably was, or had been.

When he got out at his destination, he assured me he'd not only be tipping me, but tipping me WELL, in the app.

This was before Uber had in-app tipping.

The fact that I drove Uber or Lyft and got my car destroyed by the nasty roads, that in itself makes me wonder why would someone do the same for me. Are they perfect? No, yes I am cheap skate and normally take a Lyft somewhere, and not Uber. I still tip $1-5 to diver for me short trips. Most of these drivers are totally unprofessional, they have their earphones on, phone on hand, music I totally dislike. They humming their rhythm and blues, but I still tip. Too sad both services still pay $3.71 for the short trips while they pocket 40-70 of fare. Do these guys deserve be deactivated? I don’t know. But I am sure some of you are highly perfect ethical human beings, thus you go to the extent of deactivating some of the drivers. Quit doing rides. Eats is less of a pain.

??????????

Priceless!!!!!!

Wait deactivating drivers by doing what? Taking a ride and judging the guy on every little thing because you are now as self entitled as the pax you complain about? Because you been in the game for a while and think you are better than the next guy? Is that what you guys mean?
One guy posted here one time that he file a complaint with Uber because his driverh didn't have a phone mount. I was so disappointed in humanity and sad when I read that. He even went on to make jokes about it.
Personally I pay no attention to my drivers unless they want to chat. I'm so appreciative of the fact I can get a ride in 2 minutes and I can get to where I need to be and someone is right there to do me a solid.
If anything if we start talking I try to exchange ideas. Like the phone mount. I would have mentioned to the driver" hey man you should get a mount, like pax may feel like you are distracted or uncomfortable that you holding your phone" he's response could have been "ya man my broke yesterday, and I've been so busy and broke I haven't had the chance yet to go get one" just an example. You don't know the guys situation.
Maybe he's new. Give him a few pointers.
I compare this to a friend. Whenever we go out to eat all he does is focus on the waiters. How the restaurant is set up, the windows should have blinds....cause he used to own a restaurant. Mean while I just enjoy the meal! Lol tip well and leave happy.
If you guys get my point.

You tip a cab how is this any different.
I will use the line that to tip as we need to stick together. As for the line of BS that statement is because they are not my friends but competition if it gets me $ I will try it.

I see driver are same as pax. Some tips and other don't.

The other day I picked up lady pax from Lodi going to North Bergen. She didn't say she was driver but she was giving me advice lol. Like weatheftech floor mats and which fabreeze air fresheners to get. I don't have those because I don't drive at nights and my car smell fresh every day because it is daily sprayed with Ozium at night to kill all odors and Fabreeze spray when needed. No, tip.

One guy going from Teaneck to Fort Lee said he was driver and gave me $3 plus $2 in app tip.

An "uber driver" or a "lyft driver" or any other type of "rideshare driver" is just a FANCY NAME for a homeless person with a vehicle. Do not expect homeless people to tip their driver or give you a 5 star rating as a passenger because they are ungrateful and arrogant. Just get in the car, shut the heck up and get dropped off. Nobody cares, nobody wants to talk to you, you should already know the deal. Any time a passenger states that they are an uber driver and they're smoking cigarettes or vaping upon arrival (I don't even let those ones in my car), aren't at the correct pick up location, want to do back seat driving, slam the doors, sit up front, eat food in the vehicle or any other absurd behavior which they already should know irritates every driver AND they don't tip -- I immediately give them a 1 star rating! If you're an uber driver just keep it to yourself. You know that ratings as a DRIVER are very important and anything other than a 5 star just makes you a hot steaming pile of s***.

Furthermore, just look at the types of creeps that are on this forum. Calling people GQ's and making all sorts of racist statements just screaming at you how much of losers they are lol. You expect these bottom feeders to have any etiquette? That's why the moment they say they drive for uber I already have the 1 star rating locked and loaded for them.

And guess what, even if you tip I still give you the 1 star rating for being dumb enough to tell me that you drive for uber, lyft, etc. because smarter drivers are very aware of those clowns who go back and change the rating from 5 star to lower just because they have no life and are miserable.
