Why have you ncluded GST as a cost for the Uber driver but not the taxi driver?I keep telling my riders that taxi drivers are better paid.
Taxis - For lets say a $50 fare (no tolls)
55% of what is on the meter (but will do cashie if can get away with it).
only outgoing is MAYBE the 25% income tax.
So 55% 0f $50 = $27.50 less 6.88 tax = $20.62 in the pocket
Uber - same $50 fare
Uber 25%, GST 10% Income Tax 25% - gone from EVERY FARE
So 40% of $50 = $20 & we call say $4 in car expenses = $16.00 in pocket
Works to be 22.4% better off driving canaries
Taxi has also done this $50 trip in 35 min compared to an hour for uber, so it is off able to earn again in almost half the time.
Because Owner would pay it I believe & also do all the gst back claims, not the driver. Why you have included GST as a cost for the Uber driver but not the taxi driver?
Sorry - still don't understand why you include GST as a cost to Uber driver but not taxi.they take & only give some back
Because taxis have two main operating structures:Sorry - still don't understand why you include GST as a cost to Uber driver but not taxi.
Good. The ATO previously said they would audit drivers so this will hopefully reduce the pack somewhat. And watch out, the ATO will be well and truly on the warpath now
What kind of calculation is this mate???I keep telling my riders that taxi drivers are better paid.
