Uber drivers are dying?

2598 Views 34 Replies 22 Participants Last post by  tohunt4me
As of late this forum has been flooded with people accusing certain groups of destroying other groups livelyhoods...?

I mean are uber drivers dropping dead because they can't afford food?

walking around naked because can't afford clothing?

Living in a tent because they can't afford rent or mortgage?

I mean driving isn't exactly a technical field, it has a low entry barrier... it was bound to be in the dumps at some point...

Tldr: stop blaming groups of people and just make the most of a crap situation because at the end of the day... blaming groups isn't going to make your life any richer if anything the hate will consume you...

Anyway, let's be civil, share your thoughts and opinions, keep it respectful.

Low entry barrier? You sure about that because I would say the barriers to entry in terms of costs are pretty high. There are just that many desperate people who think they can still make it in this industry

Drivers you talk to will never admit that they're making less, so people think we have it made. They enter the industry and realize it's not all it's cracked up to be. By then they'll be in a lease contract with the predatory 4 rental companies or worse, have invested into a car already and they have no choice but to keep it going. Eventually they get out.

In New Jersey the entry barrier is lowered and dirt but in New York City it's really hard to become an Uber driver

Not hard, just time consuming. It's harder to keep the license clean with all these ticket hungry cops tho

You are right. Stop blaming Uncontrolled Immigration. We want Undocumented Immigrants to be able to drive Uber in the US.

Cost to enter is not high... tlc class, wheelchair, and license fee... all under a 1k... the exam is a joke...

More like it's extremely long and tedious. But I'm sure compared to a foreigner, my wait time is peanuts in comparison.

The no-tech, low-skill dude at the driver's seat might change your fate and destiny. Ride at your own risk. Good luck.

That's with anything, the minute you step outside a lot of things are out of your control.

That's an exaggeration. The real battle is realizing your an American born citizen with note opportunity than most who's squandering your right to be successful by making driving a taxi a lifestyle choice

I blame the Paki's and the Bengalis. On another note, There was a muslim holiday a few months ago. I have never had so many calls in my life. I think our business is 90% paki and bengali

Everyone has a different definition of success and nothing says you cant be successful if you are driving for a living.
