$400 +$14000 costs
$400 +$14000 costsApparently, there was an Uber driver in Perth court today? Anyone have any further info?
Think he got slapped with a fine.
$14k costs... I wonder if Uber will be paying that one.I understand that in the magistrates court this morning a Uber driver was fined $400 with $14,000 costs . The magistrate was not happy with all the delays . The drivers name has been withheld as he received a spent conviction. I believe that the charge was "failing to comply with a lawful direction ". The are about another sixty more prosecutions to follow.
Could be, but Jeff's s very decent trustworthy guyCould be a rumour mill put out by taxi drivers to try and scare off Uber drivers??
Willing to put tonight's volleyball trophy on it.. Fact.Could be a rumour mill put out by taxi drivers to try and scare off Uber drivers??
No rumour GG, the driver is from Perth. So much for Uber looking after us. Trust me more fines to come. Whatever you do don't run from the DOT officers.Ouch!
Was this a Perth based Uber driver??? JeffaO is normally in the loop so I would take this to be true.
Soooooo the question is will Uber pay it for the driver, or will the poor Uber Driver have to pay it?????
Apparently there was an article on The West Australian web site sometime yesterday. However, it was later taken down, which also means that it wasn't in today's printed newspaper.Willing to put tonight's volleyball trophy on it.. Fact.
I suspect Uber will/would have done as much as possible to keep this quiet including getting the driver to sign a form that he won't disclose or talk to anyone.
That sounds like uberblack. SCV's are supposed to keep complete records of bookings. I was asked for my records about 6 mths after driving for Uberblack.Apparently there was an article on The West Australian web site sometime yesterday. It was something to do with refusing to provide records for previous bookings.
Dunno... might be worth tinkering with some Google cache searching tonight, but if anyone feels inclined to call DOT and ask about it then please do so.
Agreed. That sounds like uberblack. SCV's are supposed to keep complete records of bookings. I was asked for my records about 6 mths after driving for Uberblack.
He was silly for refusing to hand over records.Agreed.
I wonder if Uber will contribute toward any of it?
No-one's got $14k to pay for anything right now.
I thought that the charge was in related to refusing to hand over records? He was silly for refusing to hand over records.
I knew exactly what they would be looking for so made sure all information I gave them fitted their requirements and I never heard anymore from them.
