We are....The driver.Serious/joke question: Since seatbelts aren't made for canines, who is responsible if Poochie splats against a window?
Well said TedG, I could not have said it better myself....well I could have but it would have been longer and with more words and not gotten to the point as well as you did and people would have stopped reading my ramble half way through so the better said part of what I would have said would not have mattered. And if the existence of five service animals is going to cause problems regarding the amount of space in your vehicle I would think you could at minimum ask them to order a second car. This is a great example because you're not refusing the trip because the person has a disability. You're refusing the trip because your vehicle can't accommodate. Having said that, these people were blind not stupid. I doubt they were planning on piling five + five into an Uber
This is the point which cannot be stressed enough. Bend over backwards to accommodate people with service animals. First of all its the right thing to do, secondly the penalties for not doing so can be severe and have knocked many businesses out of the game. There a lawyers who specialize in this type of case that will be more than happy to take your car as settlement.
Also, it's the same thing in taking minors without them having an adult with them. If something happens, we as the driver will be responsible. Minor's parents, Why didn't you call me and ask if you could take my minor child in your car? He/she went to 'such and such' place and OD'd on drugs/alcohol that night....it's your fault!Serious/joke question: Since seatbelts aren't made for canines, who is responsible if Poochie splats against a window?
I don't believe there is an Animal Seatbelt law, yet....Just as all passengers must wear a seatbelt, couldn't we require a canine "seatbelt" which the rider should provide?
