I asked Uber to cover a little paint damage.
Their deductible is $2500.00. This is just another way to screw their drivers.
Did you try going through your own insurance?

Yes it used to be $1000. It just shows they don't care about us because many drivers can't afford that and don't get back in road. If Uber gave a damn they would want us back on the road ASAp. $2500 makes it very hard they know someone will replace us a and don't care about us at all.

It's the insurance companies covering the policies that upped the deductible.

In fact it's the insurance companies that are allowing you to drive. Get three moving violations and the insurance company will decline to cover you. You'll get deactivated.

After 7 years I just had my intro to this. Rear ended while waiting for a light. Rider in the car. Respectable jolt. No discernible damage, traded papers anyway, completed current dropoff and drove two more pickups, went home. 48 hours later get back on road, after 2 hours noticed smoke coming from under hood and next, a faint burning rubber smell. No dashboard message. Got home (praise be).
Google "can a radiator be damaged from a rear end collision" and will get validation. Never had the problem before the accident but now (at fault party's) insurance company says it couldn't be from a rear end collision. "Normal wear and tear" JUST HAPPENED TO OCCUR after the accident...
Out earnings, out of pocket cost. Will get rear bumper replaced, if within estimate.
But the "freedom and flexibility!!!!"

My Story... I got hit by a car driver side rear panel, luckily, I had my dashcam running as it is rear and front recording. Although uber deductible prevented me from going through their insurance the insurance rep did help me go after the other car, the deductible was $2k at the time, got me mad but the guy understood although did nothing on that front, but he did lend me assistance in pursuing the other driver and with the dashcam footage I got a really good pay day. The car suffered physical damage, but no mechanical problems and it did not affect the operation of the doors luckily.
