After 7 years I just had my intro to this. Rear ended while waiting for a light. Rider in the car. Respectable jolt. No discernible damage, traded papers anyway, completed current dropoff and drove two more pickups, went home. 48 hours later get back on road, after 2 hours noticed smoke coming from under hood and next, a faint burning rubber smell. No dashboard message. Got home (praise be).
Google "can a radiator be damaged from a rear end collision" and will get validation. Never had the problem before the accident but now (at fault party's) insurance company says it couldn't be from a rear end collision. "Normal wear and tear" JUST HAPPENED TO OCCUR after the accident...
Out earnings, out of pocket cost. Will get rear bumper replaced, if within estimate.
But the "freedom and flexibility!!!!"
