UBERBLACK UPDATES

Students and football are back around The Metroplex, so the busy Fall Season is in full swing! With this demand in mind, Uber DFW has a few updates surrounding UberBLACK.
Starting Friday, August 28, UberBLACK will reopen, accepting new accounts. All vehicles added on or after August 28 will receive both uberSELECT and uberX requests, in addition to UberBLACK requests.

Existing UberBLACK partners have opportunity to take part in the following options:

OPTION 1: Increase your potential earnings and lower your costs by becoming an uberX, uberXL and uberSELECT partner, instead of UberBLACK. On uberX products, you don't need commercial insurance , which means you will rid of that excess expense by making the switch. On top of earnings saved by not having commercial insurance, uberX products have the lowest service fee at 20%. This will allow you to pocket more per trip. Sign up for uberX products below.
DRIVE ALL UBERX PRODUCTS
OPTION 2: Increase your potential earnings by opting in to start receivingall requests on the Uber platform. While continuing to receive UberBLACK trips, you will also receive requests from uberSELECT, uberXL and uberX. This will help ensure you're making the most of your time, taking more trips, and earning more per hour. Sign up to receive uberX product requests and UberBLACK requests below.
DRIVE UBERX PRODUCTS + UBERBLACK

UberBLACK will still be the most premium experience in town. Offering premium service encourages riders to request UberBLACK. Please continue to make sure you're always providing a 5-Star experience, no matter which type of request comes through.
Riders are More Likely to Rate 5-Stars When:

Partners are dressed professionally
Partners maintain a clean vehicle both inside and out
Vehicles are damage free
Doors are opened on both arrival and departure
Cold water is provided

What a bunch of crap! .85 cents per mile Uber X rates for a black car. How would your commercial insurance know when your driving Uber X to lower your insurance rates on a black car you are driving??

UberX is the chum.
Real intent is to push better UberX fares to higher end cars in the UberX category.

EDIT: real intent is to offer better UberX fares to higher class cars. True UberX cars, like a Prius, will never get good fares in UberX platform. Good fares will then end up in Select, Black etc... That also accept UberX. Pax wins, uber wins, both select/black and UberX lose.

UberSelect seems to be worth it, if the car takes 87 octane. But what is the Uber percentage for select? Not 20% is it?
I love that $10 cancellation fee, we need that in my market

I really can't believe how hard Uber is ****ing over their UberBlack partners (Ok, I admit I had to add the "Uber" in there to keep that from sounding wrong).

Uber would not exist today without this business model being formed around the professional drivers that signed on for UberBlack. The professional driver platform is typically the LEAD platform supported in any new market. Now Uber is telling them they are required to accept ALL LEVELS of service, or leave? This company has zero respect for it's so-called partners.

Yeah, if I had one of those luxury type cars, there'd be no way in hell I'd run it on an X trip at the cost of a gumball per mile while entitled cheapskates ride in luxury. Oh, and, f--- giving out free water. You thirsty, motherfuhrer? Go back and get a bottle of water from the home or establishment you just exited.

I am not UBERBlack, but as I read this, they are basically killing Black. There is no way any Limo driver would take an UBERX call. So there choices are really:

1. Continue to drive Black and ACRO the others until they get deactivated for doing so.
2. Leave UBER and go straight LIMO.

Can't see any other possibility for them. Travis strikes again.

It applies only to newly on boarded uber black driver. Might be a matter of time before they extend it to established uber black drivers

Unless I am mis-interpreting this, I think it applies to the existing Black car drivers.
