I picked up a fare from EWR to the Catskills and then back to NYC. There was a surge this should have been a dream ride however, once we got in the mountains cell service was spotty and the app just ended the ride. The ride was over 7 hours long and over 380 miles and they are trying to pay me $99. I have been sending emails all day with no resolution has anyone had this problem, or had anything like this resolved there?

It happens man. If I were you I'd just chalk it up to a bad experience and move on. You made $99 you should be happy

Wow. Did you notice the trip ended before the passenger got out? I had the trip end on a EWR trip once. Passenger forgot something important at home, and was early enough for me to take him back home from EWR to his house, and the back to EWR for a second time, all in one trip. I told him the trip ended early (after Uber cut it short). He made sure to send a comment for the trip confirming everything that happened, and Uber made good. Best bet is to keep pushing and try to get them to confirm with the PAX that you are telling the truth. If they don't, you are screwed.

Troll

but if this was true. This would be off the Uber app. Cash only. Use Meter app to figure out the fare. Also, have a CC reader or app to make the transaction. In case he/she does not have cash on hand.

It’s about 130 miles one way and 2 hours. So, $300 to $400 would be fair.

Take turnpike to rt17 and then it’s NYS 95. very easy.

I don't believe this at all, and here's why:

If the pax entered a destination, the Uber app automatically figures ballpark what the rate will be for this very reason - in case coverage is crappy.

The trip doesn't end until the driver manually ends the trip. I've had my phone shutdown, restart, and I was still on the trip.

This is a troll, and as someone pointed out, trips end after four hours anyway.
