25% for me...which really hurts everytime I look at the trip history lol It's just not enough to do this solidly. Nice for right now to make a little cash but definitely not worth it in the long run when you factor everything in. Not with the car I have at least.

Uber pays my car note and a few credit card bills driving part time on weekends, Uber percentage rate is ridiculous. The only time I make more driving short runs is when it's surging.

would be okay if uber put rates back where were... right now trying to re-attract passengers, and screwing drivers to do this. no wonder passengers keep telling me that their last uber drivers were in terrible moods.

You just gotta know when its profitable to drive and when not too... I make enough in a weekend for 6 hours a night to make what would be a $15 a hour job at 40 hours a week. so not bad at all. Just gotta know when to do it! summer will suck though as it always does.

It's important to note that Uber actually takes much more than 25% of the fare. Uber hides this by charging each fare a booking fee which is dependent on your market. In my market Uber takes $2.25 on every fare and you the driver are not entitled to that profit. Last year Uber took almost 40% of the price the passenger actually paid. Which is complete BS. The booking fee will only go up in all markets.

Im not here to defend Uber, if you could see my posts you would know Im not a fan of their structure and etc.... However, the booking fee or SRF as the used to call it a year ago or more has always been taken in full by Uber. Lyft does the same exact thing. Uber actually though does add it as part of the fare then deducts it and then tells you on your 1099-K how much was taken. lyft just doesnt include it at all in their statements and 1099-K cuz they take it and have no reason to show it. Uber and Lyft though are exactly the same with the booking fees, Uber just shows it. So no Uber does not take more than the set commission in your agreement. I only get 20% taken from the actual fare for X and 28% for XL. Lyft takes 20% for both regular and Plus. Dont even count the booking fee as your money, its added as part of the ride for uber making the "connection" between driver and rider. Think of it as a min fare for them like the driver gets a min fare. So the fact that Uber takes 40% in the way you look at it may be correct... But remember thats always been their fee anyways that they take. In my area Uber says min fare is $6.30 in which $2.30 of that is the booking fee, so the driver Min fare is $4. With lyft they show the min fare as $4 but then they say they add a $2.30 safety Rides Fee on top of every fare which means that the driver min is $4 which is the same as uber. Minus the 20% then I get $3.20 min fare no matter if its Uber or Lyft. The service fee addendum does show what us drivers get paid per mile and per minute and the base fare. At the end of each ride it shows how far you went and how long it took and shows the per mile and minute rate for both and calculates your fare, so just check it and make sure its correct and make sure the commission percentage being taken out is correct and everything is good to go. I know what im to get per mile and etc and thats what Im doing. If Uber charges the customer more then I don't know it however with what I signed up with for rates as long as Im getting that then Im fine. Now if Uber is taking more from customers than what the actual fare was that I got then thats another issue and problem I don't agree with but as a driver as long as Im getting what I signed up with then Im ok.
