I was easily able to filter out base rides from the other rideshore platform and just do Lux and/or Lux Black if I like.

Is this possible in Uber to set filters for Uber Comfort only?

No, it is not a stand alone service if you drive X. Never has been.
But it should be an option with a qualifying vehicle! :) Always let the driver decide on matters like this. For instance, anyone doing the Tesla rental ought to be able to filter that way. My understanding is Comfort has returned to the pre-pandemic levels.

Don't ever drive Comfort or Preferred. They take way more money from you for little return.
I'm not speaking for Preferred, but I disagree regarding Comfort. While the rates ought to be better for our side of doing the Comfort rides, the rides themselves are still quite good for a few reasons. The tips are better, many of them are longer rides, and the chance of a hassle is honestly less in most cases. But I agree drivers should see more of the return for Comfort.

If you're an X driver, you likely wouldn't stay busy enough to turn on Comfort only and shut off X. Uber wants you to get a sprinkling of Comfort to fill in with your X trips.

So test it out, decline ALL X pings and see how many Comfort pings you see.

I am not saying one would want to do this all the time, but I can tell you that there are windows during the week (and locations depending on where one was at) where Comfort, with a little patience, would easily fill in one's time if there was the ability to do that with a check box. And especially at the airport, this would be helpful for those that drive vehicles that qualify for both X and Comfort. Again, I have been made aware Comfort is pretty much at pre-pandemic levels. The point is it SHOULD be up to the driver, even though a crafty driver in said scenario would still want them both on for plenty of times as well. But again, there are plenty of time and location combinations where there is an opportunity cost by having to run both all the time for those folks. Heck, last I heard Lyft still generally requires XL to be run side by side with Classic. Now that's much worse in my mind. Work arounds, yes, but why would Lyft default it for XL drivers to even consider being forced to run both together? My sense is that Uber is doing this for X and Comfort vehicles because they want to prioritize XL and Black drivers for this opportunity. And surprising on top of that is that XL vehicles qualify for Comfort for the shortest amount of time. Plain silly.
