A few days ago, I got a ride in Washington DC area, from point A to point B was a quite ride, nice customer. the money for this ride was $12. Some days later, I got the same customer with the same destination, so we recognized each other, so we start to talk about Uber as Businnes, so he asked how much Uber pay me for the previous ride so I told him about $12, and here is when the fun start. Customer show me how much Uber charge him, $22. So we finish the new ride and wait to realize that money involved was the same like previous ride, so Uber show me $12 minus fees, but customer was charged with $22 again, so WTF Uber?..

sesrch this forum. this topic has been discussed at nauseum. It's their upfront pricing. We get paid by the mile and minute. We don't get a percentage of the pax fare.
In that case why Uber keeps the 20%~25%? It is better get the ride as a taxi and get the all $22... It's looks like Uber is a parasit company cheating their drivers..... and btw, they call us partners.... ja!...

Please post the terms and conditions you accepted prior to driving. You will see your per mile rate and your per minute rate.

Don't bash a company due to your imbecility.

Remember, Uber has two customers: Drivers and Passengers.

The driver pays 25% of the miles and distance of each fare that Uber provides to the driver for access to Uber's booking app and massive market share.
The passenger pays whatever Uber tells them it'll cost, whether that's miles and time or an estimated fare. Uber tells pax this if you click the little (i) icon next to the fare estimate in the pax app.

It may seem like double dipping until you realize that both are actual customers of Uber.

I'm definitely against this, it sucks but I'm not sure how much we have to fight them over this...

Take it from a veteran taxi driver......I collect my money from pax.....noobe else is a middle man collecting my money for me I collect it when I stop trip pax pays me whatever my meter states they owe plus I get tipped about 80-85 percent of time I use PAYPAL for my c.c payments but that's only 2.7% on each payment....but I get it within 3 seconds......there is no way I would ever have a 3rd party collect the payment for me and then pay me less than 1/2 of what I make now......never going to happen and then have to hope and pray I don't get short changed or after I made trip they refund $$ cuz pax lies?........that would make someone get shot.........why in the world would you guys even put up with that BS from some immoral illegal corrupt gipsee cab company?........

Nope. You have agreed to rates minus Uber fees. What the passenger agrees to has no bearing.
(the information below comes from section 4.1 in the user agreement)
This is a very murky area. According to the agreement we signed drivers are entitled to 75 or 80% of the fare. The agreement states that all funds billed to the passenger are the same as if it was paid directly to the driver. We as drivers never see the amount we are supposedly billing the customer. Since Uber is taking more than the percentage they agreed to they are not following this part of the agreement.

The murky part is drivers also agreed to time and mileage rates. Uber has chosen to follow this part of the agreement rather than the section above.

I would like to see drivers get up a few hundred dollars and have a driver(probably one that is quitting anyway) that can prove this is happening with screenshots of both the driver and customer phone and take it to arbitration, since there can't be a class action suit, no lawyer would take this on without payment but since it is a small arbitration case it shouldn't cost a whole lot.

If arbitration sided with the driver Uber is no longer an app that just connects drivers to passengers, they would be a transportation company which could effect a lot of the ongoing litigation around the world. Just my thoughts.
