Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi, in an email to staff Monday, acknowledged Uber's rocky trading debut, while at the same time saying that tech giants Facebook and Amazon also faced difficulties after listing.

"Obviously our stock did not trade as well as we had hoped post-IPO. Today is another tough day in the market, and I expect the same as it relates to our stock," he wrote in the email obtained by Bloomberg News. Uber's shares fell as much as 11% in trading today, after its debut on Friday. "Sentiment does not change overnight, and I expect some tough public market times over the coming months."

"Remember that the Facebook and Amazon post-IPO trading was incredibly difficult for those companies. And look at how they have delivered since," he said. Uber has "all the capital we need to demonstrate a path to improved margins and profits."

This could last, several years, because the SDC GIMMICK IS NOT GONNA HAPPEN ANYTIME SOON!

For Seymour:

gim·mick

noun: gimmick; plural noun: gimmicks
  1. a trick or device intended to attract attention, publicity, or business.
    synonyms:publicity device, stunt, contrivance, eye-catching novelty, scheme, trick, dodge, ploy, stratagem;

Actually, his position obligates him to have a positive spin. It doesn't mean he believes it. You don't know what he actually thinks is true.
I don't believe anything he says. Although I imagine some of the things he says are true. "Lower rates means more money for drivers " is my favorite. How can you believe anything after that.

What is absent in this email is Amazon and FB had competent management that didn't try to screw those that generate revenue.

Sellers on Amazon take a chance trying to find what people will pay for their product. Amazon analyzes that data then undercuts them. U need the Amazon store place to reach customers, but by doing so u help the way way way more super powerful entity steal yr customers.

FB's revenue is advertising to its users & selling their data. So they're not necesarily screwing those that give them revenue, but they aren't exactly benevolent. Users are their product.

Screwing people isn't exactly harmful to yr receiving investment funds. I'd guess it's a minority of investors who care. Some people get angry when u suggest one should care.
