If you haven't seen it, check youtube for the MSNBC interview with Travis. This was in 2016 where he says in the interview that he is reaching for the bottom. His goal is to provide impeccable service at the lowest rate. For those that drive UBERX, you are already used to this and your service is not even average most of the time. But, for BLACK, SUV, LUX drivers this is an eye opener. Because this seems to be coming to fruition with SELECT. Now, many Black/SUV drivers do not like to wait around for calls, so, they take SELECT calls. Doing the same runs, for less, and they have to provide great service to get a 5 star rated trip. UBER won't even approve all SUV/BLACK cars to take SELECT so there is another unfair business advantage. Sitting on Sunset parked in front of Skybar or The Standard and you know you are the closes SUV, but you see SUV after SUV , new ones, pile in? They using SELECT or even stupidly XL. After 90 minutes you finally get one. Doesn't this suck big chunks? What if everyone stopped doing BLACK/SUV and resorted to Select? Travis gets his wish and now premium drivers are working 69-80 hours a week with no OT pay to barely make a 40 hour week paycheck. I'd like to hear some ideas to combat this problem.
