That won't work today because Uber is no longer onboarding new Black accounts in Philly, which is why I'm considering taking the route that you and I had previously discussed.
I'm not even sure if a TLC Diamond can still be had. Is one still attainable and wouldn't that require a NY driver's license?
These companies have destroyed this industry.
It's not like other Industries like when the Horseless Carriage replaced the horse-drawn carriage or the internet replacing newspapers and magazines.
This industry is being decimated by Uber and Lyft.
You can't blame stupid drivers working at break-even or even losing rates because they are stupid so it's sort of not their fault. But I can blame Uber and Lyft for devaluing an entire industry while not even making a profit themselves.
When you are selling your only product for 70% of the actual cost of that product, you can't possibly win through.
I don't expect drivers to understand that because all they see is the cash in their hand and they don't really know what it's costing them to get that cash but I do expect the people running these Rideshare companies to understand that. And maybe they do understand it but are just looking to Milk The Venture Capital and IPO money to line their own pockets in the moment and not worry about these companies surviving in the long-term or the damage that they have done to what might be Millions of people who once had a career in the transportation industry.
Okay rant over.
