UBER BLACK STARTUP GUIDE ?

can someone give me some info on how to get into uber black i have the 2015 chev surburban i just dont know what kind of insurance or what else i need? please get back to me with helpful tips for a uberx driver crossing into BLACK?

The process is easier in NYC. Get your TLC license and take it from there.

Go to the Uber office in NYC and they will help u get your TLC license. Way easier then nj

Vehicle Requirements
Minimum Requirements
  • Model Year: Must be 2010 or newer
  • Plates: New Jersey Limousine plates that meet UberBLACK criteria
  • Body Style: Any with 4 doors
  • Seating: Must have seats AND seat belts for driver and 4 passengers
  • Color: Interior and exterior must be black
  • Insurance: Limousine insurance with at least $1.5MM in coverage, with the driver's name on the insurance policy
  • No cosmetic damage or missing pieces
  • No commercial branding or taxi color paint jobs
  • No large passenger vans or commercial/Heavy Duty trucks

As noted before: the biggest hurdle of getting OL plates in NJ is getting limo insurance.

I believe you also need a permit from the town you live in to operate a limo business from your residence.
