I just received an email from Uber saying that my Uber Beacon is ready to be picked up at the Greenlight. Do any of you have one of these and is it worth it?

Really $80! Maybe I should sell my Lyft amp then. I ordered it with no intent of using it so it's just been in the box for a year. I figured it could be a collectible down the road.

I got one when they first rolled out in Miami 3 years ago. It comes with a 3 usb port charger and a 10 ft mirco micro charging cable. Both of those item have come in quite handy.

I have never used the beacon.

I saw on another thread that they are asking $200 for these on eBay. It sounds like a better choice than keeping it for myself.

Only 4 Beacons currently listed on eBay, up to $203. Previous sold listings on eBay went for $37 to $172:

Sure enough, first ride after collecting the Beacon passenger gets in and asks where it is. Had it charging in the front seat. She wanted to see “her chosen color”.

Uber has had more than enough time to roll this out, and they've chosen not to commit, so they must not see it as a wise investment.

So the passenger is notified that you have one?
That's not good for those of us thinking about picking one up but not necessarily using it. I don't want my riders saying I couldn't find your car because I didn't see a blue light display. Lyft still send me a daily reminder to set up my amp that I got over a year ago.

If its anything like lyft, I think you need to set it up thru them, so at that point now, you will light up.....There are a few with multiple bids for over 200.00, guess Im spending my gas to go get one

This is funny because I am the same as you. My Amp is in the og box in the closet and I have the pop-up telling me to pair it non stop. Today I noticed that they will now pay me $10 to pair it and give 10 rides! Lol.
